Anyone had a chance to measure real loft of the 3 og uw?

I've got the 17/19 og combo, the loft are 14 and 16! It probably explain the insane distance I'm doing with both clubs related to the loft. I'm wondering if the 21 is close to 18 to better gap with the uw 17 and my 4 Iron (21°)

Where did you get the loft measured? I’d love to see what my 19° head is at

Is the UW an alternative to utility?

It's a hybrid of hybrids....🤔

Not quite a hybrid, not quite a fairway wood. It takes a wood (.335) shaft so you have all kinds of options depending on the direction you want to take it. They are long off the tee, super easy to hit off the deck, and very manageable out of the rough.

My 19 is so automatic I traded in my #4 QI 10 Tour Hybrid for 21 degree UW.  Gave me a 10 yard carry difference and 15 if I cut it in.  I was missing the hybrid left but not the UW.  The stock shaft is SOOO much better for ME than the original.  I did hit the 17 degree but I didn't hit any further off the deck and I would rather have the higher trajectory, yes it runs out but the 19 hits and stops on greens for me.

On a mitchell bending machine. I've got my 21 UW and the loft is 19°.
The only problem with the OG UW is the lie, they're around 59.5/60.0°

Specs from all 3 UW:

UW 17 / loft : 14 / lie : 59.5 / headweight : 231.8
UW 19 / loft : 16 / lie : 59.5 / headweight : 232.1
UW 21 / loft : 19 / lie : 60.0 / headweight : (did not removed shaft yet)

What level of player is this club aimed at? As someone who works in the industry callaway has told us the newest UW atleast was completely designed by their tour staff which tells me it’s not benefiting a 15 + handicap. Could be totally wrong but that’s what callaway told us. If there are high cappers gaining benefits from this club then it must be magical. I have no skin in the game have never used one just curious when I see a forum topic have 65 pages of responses.

I hit my 21* uw better that my 4w. More shaft length than anything but the uw works for me and I am a 19 cap.

19&21 are not difficult to play. The 17 on the other end, you need some speed to elevate the ball as it is closer to 14° with a 41 inch shaft and low spin head

I've had my new 21* UW with a the GD AD TP 8s in it for a few weeks now.  After 4 rounds and some range time, I hit this so much better than the OG UW in the same loft.  The club glides thru the turf more consistently for me, and it's feels really good.  I'm uncertain still on the shaft, but I don't hate it.  I had a Attas T2 8s in the last UW, and really liked that shaft.  I'm going to give the TP some more time as the weather warms up, but I've hit some really good shots into greens that have held nicely with the new UW.

For all the happy uw users. What version (newer or older ) would you say is the most forgiving ?

I find the newer model more forgiving, but that's mainly because of the turf interaction.  Toe shots stay online a lot better better.  I also don't feel like the club is getting stuck in the turf like the older model felt at times, so mishits are more predictable based on what I know how my misses should be based on my swing.

the 17* UW is an absolute game changer for me! It has the best qualities of a hybrid and fairway wood without the negatives of either.

now its got an AD-DI in it so partly the shaft but man what a great club.

Thanks for input, thinking of grabbing one to replace my 4 wood

Anyone playing the 17* and think it’s better than a fairway wood of similar loft? Better (more forgiving, more versatile )?

I replaced my TSR2 15* with the 17* UW and it’s way better for me. Very little distance drop off from both the tee and  ground. I find it easier to hit and definitely more versatile.

you have me thinking I should try to replace my Rouge ST LS with a 17*. Too bad the stock on CPO isn't that great as I heard the stock black shaft was almost unusable in the 17* heads due to the low launch.

You cannot accurately measure a wood head on a bending machine.  That's just not what they are built for.  You need a spec gauge to do it.
