For those gaming strong lofted long irons, what’s your top end set up?

For anyone that’s gaming strong lofted long irons e.g 4 iron @ 19/20 degrees.

 

What else have you at the top end of the bag?

 

Ive hot metal pro 4 & 5 irons so 19/22 degree. Just wondering are people going straight to 3/4 wood? 2 iron/hybrid or what are they gaming?

My 5i is 23.5 degrees. Mavrik Pro. I skip the 4i and go straight to a 915h 3h @ 21 degrees. Then a Cobra f9 5w @ 18. Then a 915f 3w at 15 and cobra f9 driver at 10.5.

So it's basically 3 traditional woods, a 3h that fills a few different roles between that and the irons, and then a 5i that is better off the tee for me than the ground, if I'm being honest.

The 5i is my worst club in the bag. All shafts are r flex.

Strongest loft is my 6i at 23 degrees.

I have a 2 hybrid set to 16* in between my driving iron and 3 metal.  15 to 20 yard gaps.  It works for me.

My irons are Mavrik Pros and I stop at a 6 iron at 26.5. I did have a Mavrik Max 5 iron at 23* but replaced it with a Hybrid at the same loft. I then go 20* Super Hybrid (the orange one), 16.5* 4w, and driver. The set up seems to work well enough for me. The super is the only club up top right now that may or may not be safe if I can find a used 7 wood that I want to try. I'm also open to a 278 hybrid to try in place of the 6 iron if I can come across and 818 with an atmos black like my 23* version.

 

I play courses between 6000 and 6400 yards and don't often have second shots with longer then 7 (30.5*) or 8 (34.5) irons unless its a par 5 in which case I'm probably not going for it anyway unless I have a lot of room around the green.

My 4i is 20 so above that I game a 17 hybrid, 14.5 3w and a 10 Driver. Been dialing in the gaps but so far so good.

5 iron is 22*.  I have PXG Gen2 driving irons, 3 iron is 19* and 2 iron is 17*.  Then goes straight to my driver.  Can't hit woods or hybrids at all.

Still playing a set of Rocketbladez down to the 4 iron. Next clubs are a GAPR mid 4 turned to 19.5 and a GAPR mid 3 turned to 16.5.

My Takomo 4 iron is 20.5 do I will pull my GAPR and just have my 18* 5 wood.

16 3 wood, 20 4, 23.5 5. Plan on testing some woods, or utility type 4/5 iron to replace the 4 iron. It's my only club that comes home not needing a bath after most rounds.

From my 26* six iron, it goes up to a 23* four hybrid, 21* 7-wood, 17.5* 5-wood, 14.5* 3-wood, 9.5* driver

I play Driver 10.5°, 17° 4 wood, 20.5° and 23° hybrids and then my longest iron is 24°. In previous sets this was my 4 iron but in my current set it is a 5 iron. FWIW I find the 24° 5 iron much easier to hit than previous model 24° 4 irons. Maybe the number stamped on the bottom DOES matter. 🤔 Or maybe it is the shorter shaft length? 🙂 Either way I'm loving my new, strong lofted, 'distance' irons.
