Is this the same as their prior year set wedge’s? I have 921s with the set GW and it performs well for me.

Perhaps they had planned on it, but the GW ended up looking almost the exact same across all 3. So instead of producing 3 very slightly different GW, they made the decision to unify the GW into one club and offer 2 more wedges in SW and LW form. The market for set-matching GW does tend to be smaller if you look at the Classified section and the Bay (so many 5-9 sets 🙃), so having these be available can help that situation out too.

Looks like were back to the old leading edge again on the forged. Really wondering how the turf interaction on this iteration will be.

Another poster commented after my original comment saying that there will be a 4i available for the North America release.  He said no 4i for the Japan release hence it not being in the Japanese literature that has been linked in this thread.

I posted about the US release that there is a 4 iron in all 3 Hot Metal models.  I didn't know ro say anything about the Japan release, I think that might have been another post as you mentioned.

Yes, it was a different member commenting on my original post regarding there is no 4 iron option on the Japanese sites.

i actually need to go into a shop and hit the 921 HM vs. HM Pro for a bit. I know for sure GI/SGI level offset messes with how i line up the club. but i need to see if that in fact changes anything directionally.

Tourspec has some pictures of the JDM version. They look good, I am a bit confused by the forged and tour offering, is the tour not forged?

I’m holding off to see what Srixon does to improve on the ZX7’s and what TM does with the P790’s. Those would be my 1st 2 picks if I were to switch

The Tour is forged.  But that is how they have always had this lineup stated.  The forged is actually a mix of forged and chromoly.  The tour is pure forged.

Can’t imagine Taylormade is doing anything with the 790s this year. Likely slated for Fall 2023

The forged is actually also "pure forged", only the materials varies between 4-7i and 8i-G iirc
