Anyone know what’s going on with the forged? Did they pull a 223 and combo the set between carbon and chromoly? 
 

I think this release is solid. Now waiting on Srixon.

From the Japanese site, it looks like they offer a true matching GW in the Forged but not in the Tour or HM / HMP.

Can anyone convert these face progression specs to offset? I'm trying to figure out if 921 HMP has more or less offset. I tried to find 921 HMP face progression specs but could not find.

Looks like it, as well as some micro slot starting at 7 to lower CG.   So 4/5 - 7 chromoly with micro slot.

They have done this with the forged for a few generations.  Not sure what the deal is with the HM lines and the refusal to add. Huge demand for it, particularly given the super strong lofts

Guys...if you want a "Hot Metal" product but want a more traditional pitching wedge and loft set up, then buy the 225.  It's got all the chromoly-ballspeed-tech you want in a thinner package with more friendly lofts.

For anyone that cares, for HMP, the offsets are exactly the same as 921.

 

Offset formula: Half hosel diameter MINUS face progression EQUALS offset

 

JP site says HM FP is same from 921 to 923, 7-iron 1.8 mm. US site states offset is .189" (4.8 mm). With FP/offset formula, half hosel diameter is 6.6 mm

 

5 iron
    6.6 - 3.0 = 3.6 (0.142")
6 iron
    6.6 - 3.2 = 3.4 (0.134")
7 iron 
    6.6 - 3.4 = 3.2 (0.126") 
8 iron
    6.6 - 3.6 = 3.0 (0.118")
9 iron
    6.6 - 3.8 = 2.8 (0.110")
PW
    6.6 - 4.0 = 2.6 (0.102")

 

Assuming hosel diameters the same across Tour, Forged, HM, HMP, you can do the same for other models.

I’ve had the 921 SEL’s for a little over a year now. What’s with the hate for the 921 Tours? Sure they’re not quite as soft as the z785’s I came from but they still feel great and have plenty of forgiveness for what they are.

There is an in hand pic of the Tours on IG under "allgolfequipment". I think it looks even better than the website photos as the "JPX 923" portion definitely doesnt appear to standout too much, which i think makes the overall look super clean and very nice.

Looks like they moved to DG as their stock shafts. Wonder if Nippon will be no up charge as in prior years(I game 120X’s)??
