G/Fore MG4X2

Anyone have any experience with these shoes? What are your thoughts?

I currently wear Code Chaos and think they're very comfortable and quite happy with them, but always interested in trying new things.

I have 2 pair of Code Chaos and 2 pairs of the Mg4’s. The Adidas have been relegated to my sloppy weather shoes… they are both really comfortable but the gFore’s are just better in my opinion.  I have bad feet and they just feel better after wearing the gFore’s. I walk 90% of the time. I also throw in my Ecco Biom Hybrids from time to time. Love them also.
Hope that helps.

This topic is a good one.  I have a ton of golf shoes.  Love a lot and am indifferent to a lot.

my favorite go-to shoe is still probably my Ecco S-three but my Mg4 (all white with blue camo bottoms) are super comfy.  They are just clean so I don’t wear them in the slop which is what we get mostly starting in October around here In Tennesee.   The “old” MG4 feel great.  If it’s dry out, I’m wearing MG4.

the new MG4x2 feel even better.  They are def a wider shoe.  If you need wide, like a big fan of True Linkswear, you’ll love these. These are what ultraboost golf shoes should be from adidas.   If you don’t like a wider toe box you may not like these.  They felt slightly bigger in the same size compared to MG4.  I wear a 13 and the MG4 feel great.  The MG4x2 felt bigger but i think it’s all the toe room.

the only thing I don’t care about is the colorway options. Not a big fan of any of the colors so far and would lean towards the all white. That said, the back of the all whites is more of a cream or yellowish color and not bright white.  Anyway, they feel great.

I own Jordans, Tour Premier, Code Chaos, MG4 and the new trainers. I have worn them all and the MG4 is one of my favorites. The new trainer is better for the range. It is not quite as "stable" as the MG4 leather golf shoe. It is however a very comfortable shoe for the range, gym, etc.

I can not stand the new curved arrow logo. I’m not sure how they thought this looked good. I am looking for new condition older models because I just can’t get behind that logo.

Agree with that, it just doesnt look like a logo or its incomplete or something, it needs something else.

Wonder what people who arent familiar with Gfore think it is if they see you wearing it on the streets.

MG4+ are the most comfortable golf shoe I have ever owned IMO

I am currently in Adidas ZGZ1 because they did not have the MG4+ in my size but I intend to rectify that in a few months when it warms up

I would agree that the new logo sucks

Just spent an hour at PGA SS trying on EVERYTING! Nothing compares to the MG4x2. Wow! My buddy has 3 pair already. Check these out what he showed up in yesterday. He is a golf shoe fanatic and these shoes are his favorite.

My question is how waterproof are they and are they stable in the swing? Thanks.

I haven’t swung in them so not sure how stable.  I guess that is usually the trade off. The higher stack height of cushion, the more unstable, I guess??

the shoes are comfy enough to wear them everyday tho.   They are amazingly comfy. Have good grip as my MX4 has same grip and works well.  Just don’t know how stable.

Yea, comfort is no joke in these. I wear Hoka tennis shoes and these are more comfortable. Just spoke to my buddy and he has no issues with traction or waterproofing.

Don't know if the newest ones were updated but I bought a pair of MG4+ here after my buddy was raving about them and I HATED them.  I have never had so much foot pain from walking before from any shoe.  I thought the toe box was way too narrow and I don't have wide feet.  My foot was also wanting to slide forward creating some pretty awful pain on the tips of my big toes.  I left after 15 holes and drove home in my socks.

I have the OG CodeChaos and find them to be MILES more comfortable and feel nothing after walking 18 in them.  My FJ premieres are far better as well...  I really wanted to like the MG4+ as I love the insoles but find them to be way too narrow, Gallivanters, too.  Unless I am really off on size (10.5 in the CC and G4) or the newer version has been made to fit a wider in the toe box, I can't ever see trying G4 again.

I am always on the look for good cushioned golf shoes.  I  need cushion, wide toe box but normal size midfoot and heel, and good grip.  The logo is ugly, but I can live with it if they are as comfortable as people here say.  I tend to fall between a 10.5 and 11, depending on the shoe.  Are these on the larger or smaller side?

I wear 12 in Adidas and same in GFore MG4+ and MG4x2 during my trials. I have flat wide feet and felt much better than the Adidas ZG21 and Motion.

A bit of a digression here, but how are your Premieres for walking 18 vs. CodeChaos?

I’d think it would be a night and day difference, but have no idea. I’ve been interested in the Premieres because of their wide sizes — I’ve liked shoes with Boost and am wondering, after they’re broken in, how dramatic the change would be.

I have both of those too.  Codechaos are superior for walking. Premiers are a great quality and looking shoe, if I’m riding in a cart. Can you walk in them? Sure. If you don’t have codechaos or mg4x2 on hand.

I have been pleasantly surprised as to how nice the Premieres have been.  You know how you have worn shoes you like and deal with a little bit of pain (maybe its only me...)?  I expected the Premieres to be just that but they are not.  I find them to be better on hotter days than the CC as I don't find the CC to breathe as well, so I mostly wear them on wet and colder rounds.  I really wanted to like the MG4+, I like the idea of sneaker shoes, but they are very hit and miss for me, the CC being one of the only ones I could stand besides the Pro SL.  The toe box of the Premiere is far better than most IMO, especially after a couple rounds, they turn into a really comfortable shoe.  The CC have pretty much stayed the same right out of the box, not a bad thing, they are pretty good right away.. but the style of the Premiere combined with its surprisingly good comfort puts it at the top of my list right now.  Which makes me happy considering the cost.

I thought the MG4+ looked great. They were nice on course, but definitely not quite the level of comfort I expected from some of the reviews. I was really hopeful for the next version but man these MG4+ x 2 things are ugly.

I thought the same thing on the MG4+ for what it's worth. They're comfortable, but ... the rave reviews they get make me wonder if those people have ever tried on Adidas shoes with Boost. Completely different league.
