Speculative - G430 tech?

Either way… artificial limit. I say just let physics do what physics does. Unobtainium doesn’t exist. What every the rebound limits of metals are explore them. Tired of the USGA…

And getting rid of the USGA would improve golf exactly how?

Whether a limit Is seen as “artificial” by someone has no relevance. Every sport has rules to protect the integrity of the game. So basically, throw out the rules for golf only? Physics also applies to baseballs and bats. Should we just turn pop flies into home runs because technology makes it possible? And why not allow NFL kickers to inflate the ball to whatever they want and start kicking 75 yard field goals?

And if we can get the golf balls and clubs to go even longer, we can use even more land to build 10,000-yard golf courses and require more water in a world that is already facing water shortages that are only going to get worse. Golf is already criticized for its water use on courses. The USGA should not allow anything that will make that worse.

You missed the point. I didn’t say “no limits” is stated artificial limits.

If the USGA would not have allowed metal woods; this issue would not exist. But they did… so play it out. They could have limited it to Stainless Steel but they allowed Titanium ; again the material has limits.

MLB controls equipment by allowing only wood for bats. Lower leagues regulate bat COR for safety purposes. Lower leagues permit because most schools and parents want to buy 10 bats a season… I’ve coached, I know the cost.

And what is “plain in shape”? Who decides that? And why should that limit? It’s arbitrary. Ask Wilson and how much money they lost because of 3 millimeters on the Triton. I have both sole plates… there is ZERO advantage to the “illegal” plate.

The other part is the major equipment manufacturers spend most of the money in sponsoring the tours and players. The USGA and the R&A does not seem to consider logic… it’s only arbitrary contols

If they banned metal woods, I could still play a metal hybrid with a hot face, that is 45 inches long and 10* loft? Or a 46 inch driving iron?

it’s not so easy. Also, not all driver faces are just “titanium,” they are mostly alloys, with lots of different metals blended together in them. In fact “316Ti” is a titanium stabilized stainless steel. Would that be allowed under your non-artificial rule? What about the carbon face?

I think  COR/CT limits are just as “artificial” as all the rest of the rules. No one is preventing you from buying non-conforming products if the USGA’s rules bother you.

It's awesome that companies like Ping go through all the effort of researching things, applying advanced AI and putting all this the new and innovative tech into Drivers just so that I can spend a ton of money and hit the same crappy drives with the same misses I did the year before. 🥴

The concepts do look interesting though!

IanTXG said on a video that Ping has a very hot fairway wood coming.  Not sure if it's a TSR2+ single offering, the regular 3W LST, or something else!

Isn't it pretty clear he was talking about the normal G430 LST 3fw that has a titanium cup face now.. That's all.

Official G430 at LIV Bangkok. LST has partial carbon crown back crown. MAX and SFT don’t.

In Thailand broadcast I think I saw Westwood gaming the Max head, Louie was in the LST and so was Niemann.

Ping Japan has released some official launch videos featuring tour pros (e.g. Hinako Shibuno)

Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgrul2VYBgjrdUYJPwqMhECtY2LIt2XCa

Shibuno must be double-jointed on her lead elbow, it's inverted.

Love the Japan advertising stuff.

The MAX isn't for Alex at ALL.  He always requires low spin drivers.

And actually said he'd go straight to the LST models fit wise.
