Hit the new driver today. Tried the stealth last year and absolutely hated it and couldn’t hit it. Tried the stealth 2 plus, 425 LST, and the paradym TD all with the same shaft. All three were great but the stealth was about 5 yards longer so that’ll be the winner for me. Really wish they got rid of the red face tho

Having trialled Stealth plus and Stealth of 2022 and the Stealth of 2023, I agree with his summary point that there’s not a whole lot of difference in distance between the two editions.

But he cannot be much of a golfer with dispersion like he demonstrated. I’m no swing analyst but maybe he’s hitting at the ball too hard for his natural swing.

When I tried last year’s two models on the course of 9D loft ( or 9.5 ) I found the same issue as he now reports: soft hits. Having now bought a 2022 Stealth Plus, but of 10.5, I find consistent striking. But it’s way inferior to my SIM 2 MAX with the same shafts in both.

The 8* head this year performs just like my OG Stealth 8*, the 9 was what you'd expect, a bit more spin and bit higher launch. I could put either in the bag and be fine, but my bad swings put a bit extra spin on the ball which so I use an 8 to comabt that a bit.  If you're a lower spin player the 9 would probably be a better fit to avoid potential knuckle shots if you catch it high on the face, especially if you want to open the face up a bit.

I like Shiels content but no way I'd ever use him to base anything off of.  There was a recent video where he said that driver was the best part of his game...sir you hit the ball over gods creation with driver.

How is the stealth 2 compared to the TR2.

Surprised on how the Stealth 2 Plus retained ball speed on off center strikes.

Messed around a bit with the Stealth 2's indoors, not much, just a handful of shots. Really really like the sound and feel of the drivers. Kind of responsive/explosive feeling, I just really enjoyed hitting them. If I buy a new one off of sound and feel alone, I think the Stealth 2 Plus might be the one.

The plus 3 wood looks really nice at address, I think the gloss crown with the matte front and back bits really works on that one. When I put it down, I was like, oh crap, I will probably have to buy one of these at some point.

So I was able to do a fitting with the stealth 2 plus 9 degree vs my m3 (440) 9 degree yesterday

4 mph ball speed increase but had a touch higher spin so distance was about the same overall

103.5 SS with m3 EF T1100 6.0

105.0 SS with stealth 2 plus Project X RDX Red 5.5 60 gram

consistence increase with SS

didn’t seem worth 629 to me…

Coming from an 8 turned down to 6 in the og into a 9 turned down to 7 in the 2, I'm getting a little lower launch and a little higher spin.

The biggest difference for me is the extreme fade bias I saw in the 4 og heads I went through last year is completely gone.  Stealth 2 is very neutral and stable.

Interesting with the new very flat lie angle!

I have a love hate relationship with my Stealth but this being more neutral would be better for me.

Got to hit the driver today, they didn’t have the fairways unfortunately. Feel is pretty much the same as the og stealth. S2+ spun a lot more than S1+ for me, which I actually like as I usually don’t have enough spin. I have my 9* sim2 max at 7.5* and had the S2+ at 9* expecting to need the extra loft. Turned it down all the way to 7 with the 9 head and still was a little higher than I liked. Went to the 8 head for the flatter lie and turned it to 6.5 and it was perfect. Definitely considering the purchase.

Why wouldn't you use your gamer shaft for testing instead of the stock shaft?  Those two shafts are not even close in what they're made to do.

I did and the results were complete crap with the S2+, we kept going thru different shafts and literally the only one that gave similar numbers to my gamer was the red RDX 5.5

I even tried the 5.5 in my gamer head and the results were crap

Interesting info here. It’s weird i play and 8 in c1 setting with tsr3 and it seems to launch plenty high. Had the 8 in stealth one and hit some insane bombs with it and when I hit it smoothly and square it flew really high, but it didn’t seem that forgiving and I could hit some weird shots. Thinking I should either embrace my circus aoa swing or deliver the club a little more like a golfer… that being said I think I’ll try a 9 degree in stealth 2 plus and build a driver for competitive rounds. I messed around with an og stealth 9 degree for a bit on a simulator and seemed to get the sweet spot more often than with my 9 degree but I couldn’t get the descent angle down. I don’t know. I seem to fall in between the offered lofts with Taylormade. Weird how high the tsr 3 launches, and to see the tour guys all using 9 and 10 degrees in that one.

There has to be a shaft that will launch a head with a higher SS and 4! MPH faster ball speed

Definitely interesting how high the stealth2+ was launching for me. Lower loft is always kind of a bandaid for me, but I didn’t expect to have to go that low especially in the plus head.

I played both 9 and 10.5 heads of the OG and trying to decide on the loft for the stealth 2 plus.

For me the stealth 2+ launched much higher than the og+. Had to use more loft on the og and less on the 2+.

This is something I'm going to look at. I'm working to get launch up and keep spin down. I'm leaving yards on the table just from launch. I'm close with recent changes on my stealth+.

I was thinking it but figure I'd let somebody else jump to the it - I would think with enough tweaking there's 10 yards waiting to be found.

The best thing to do is go to test it out yourself.  For me, the Stealth and Stealth 2 (plus models) couldn't be more identical.   This of course  is assuming you've already been fit.  If you were never it you probably will find some improvement in the new head.
