Thank you sir, I was looking at that one plus the LA Golf shaft as well.  I've never done an aftermarket shaft or a graphite one so it's a new world to me.

My local shop came through again.  Proud owner of a 34" Newport.  I heard rumors of the release and reached out a day before the official announcement.  When the email hit that Tuesday morning that sealed my desire for one.  This is as close as you will get to Spieth's putter without going the 009 route.  Talk about a different look.  Almost all my Newports have the flange line.  I guess I have grown accustomed to it even though I wanted a different look.  This one is here to stay for sure.  But it may not knock the Champions Choice Newport from last year out of the bag yet.  Only 27 putts a week ago.  I think it knew I had a new one on order!  LOL.

Think he's been doing around 4,000 of each head in recent years for limited releases.  So rare.  One could go there whole life without seeing one in the wild, hahaha.

Well my club pro came through unexpectedly for me. I was playing in league yesterday and he drives up in a cart with 2 Jet Sets in his hand. He knows I love Cameron's and he said they got 6 in and he had 2 left if I wanted one. Are you kidding? He had a Newport 2 which is what I like. He earned big kudos for that one. I never even asked him about them because I wasn't sure we were getting any.

My guy at my club just came through as well. He's a Titleist staffer and a great guy so I'm sure he has connections. He just sent me an email saying they have a 35" Newport 2 coming in for me.

Crazy amount of flippers on this release. The Champions choice were listed here pretty frequently but these even more so.. 

 

Did the CC suddenly open everyone's eyes looking to make a quick buck???

 

I must say though, I do find each listing comical as they all have some BS like "I bought it for my dad & he isn't playing much golf any more ",,,, "it doesn't fit my stroke"  "I bought the Newport but wanted the NP2""  blah blah blah...

 

Why not Just OWN IT & say I bought this to resale & here it is...

What are they flipping them for?  Honestly wanted one, but I wasn’t paying $650, and would never pay a flipper.  Besides I have a really good suspicion the next OTR line will be black.

I tried to get a champion's choice last year, was number 2 on the list at my local shop....when it came in they said they were charging $1000 for it...so I passed and won't do business with that shop again. So this year I'm not even going to bother. They look nice but I won't spend $1k on a putter...I'd rather get two really nice putters from the boutique makers like Nordberg, Matthew, etc...

Has anyone tried to reshaft one of these yet? Wondering how the finish will take to heat before I swap the original shaft for a black one.

Hundreds of these on eBay.  Too many produced to flip IMO.

Maybe, but taxes are required on the sale now.  Combined with time spent on flipping it’s not worth it IMO.  Would need to get $2k for me to consider flipping.

one thing I really like with this release, is the grip, I see you kept the original so assume you like it too?

I’ve really taken a liking to the LA GOLF TPZ one35, so going this route was a derivative of that.  I find this one has the same stability and feel so it’s staying in.  I also kinda liked how the pattern in the shaft matched well with the stock grip…a cool added feature of the build.  As for this grip in general…BIG fan of it!  I typically play 2 wraps under the dancing cameron cord, or as of late, I’ve gone to the Pistolini plus with a couple wraps.  This grip was a complete surprise: nice texture and familiar preferred shape.  Its been awesome.  I hope it makes it to greater production because I would like to continue playing it.  All in all, IMO this release was a good one…with the exception of the shaft.

My club had a football kickoff squares game this following weekend so (like always) I threw in my $50.  Totally forgot about it until the Club Pro called yesterday and gave me the good news that I won a 34" Jet Set.  Picked it up today and he said "have fun flipping it".  To his surprise, I took the plastic off right there and went to the practice green.  This thing is sexy AF and feels amazing.  I think I might go the reshaft route, though, and drop in a Tour Black Stability shaft.
