The Mizuno Pro 221s are the best looking in my opinion.

That's what I'm playing.  Awesome sticks.

I personally don't think there's much difference between any blade iron outside of the fact of rather you like soft (Mizuno) or firm Wilson,Ping) feel. After that, pick a shape you like.

There are a ton of custom options with Mizuno and Miura, not to mention National Custom. They seem to be able to do virtually anything. No one mentions Bridgestone, but when they get an iron right, they are usually one of the best going - their new MB looks pure. Wilson make a great looking iron too. And, I don't know if Artisan has been mentioned, but there a bunch of prototypes of those floating around where I am. The wedges set up as nice as anything.

I've owned sets of Srixon z945, Ping Blueprint and the most recent Cobra King Forged MB's. They are all pretty excellent clubs, but my order would have to go Blueprints, z945 then Cobra King Forged. I am gaming the cobra's right now, but am seriously regretting selling the Blueprints earlier this year. Really had no reason to change, but did anyways. Not trying to take anything away from the Cobra's they are still great clubs I just miss the Pings - the shape is perfect, the forgiveness is actually quite good for a blade I think the tungsten screw in the toe definitely helps. They were also the longest blade I've ever played as well.

Great point. Least amount of offset possible, square toe, smaller the better.

I think the Z-Forged are a pretty squared off blade that people seem to love....  I love my '18 Apex MBs - Super soft, minimal offset, small blade length, and (relatively) forgiving.... but they are probably much more rounded than you'd like

Wilson staff model blades, by a country mile, and ive tried them all. I give ZX7 props as a damn solid blade also.

(2HC, and before the usual comments about not being able to use them, yes im more than qualified to use them)

Wilson, all day long, for looks, performance and price. Winning combination in my book.

If I was a younger player I'd be all over the Blueprints. They are sweet, but as I get up in age I need a little more forgiveness so I've gravitated to the T100's. They give a good blend of player's iron and forgiveness.

(now I want to hit some Blueprints again....) 🤔

Related Thread subplot..... and which of those lovely blades have the least offset?

Just ordered a Sub70 649 8-iron test club....  0.5mm offset thru whole set...... and an Arias Zero Offset 8-iron on way too 🦆

Sidenote: Arias mailed me some Car disc brakes by accident they were trying to return lol so gotta call em now...

Can't figure how to like my own posts

Sub70 649 MB Tour

I second this. Best blade I’ve played in years. The shape is ideal for me at address, I originally wished they had a more traditional look in the bag, but performance and set up at address is king for me. I was on the verge of ordering a set of TW’s when I found them. Demoed for a week, took them along on a couple of fittings. Nothing else was better. The cost savings was just a bonus.

I would look for something forged in America, rebar stiff shafts, no offset, thickest top line imaginable, and 0 bounce.   Under $100 and if the only text is something like “Dynapower” or “Synchro Dyned” it’s a no brained.  A475BB70-BB4F-4305-B2D8-4A9384A829A1.jpeg.c985a0a2088bde6c36fd45e9eeb7d115.jpeg

i've owned the most talked about irons in general from miura, ping, kyoei, etc.  I have 5 sets of miura, 4 of ping, and only the KK in kyoei's. 3 sets of pxg's as well for reference in the discussion. all 'players' irons.

I will say the best of the bunch for feel is the kyoei KK raws.  the grind is superb with turf interaction and the shot off the face so solid/soft miura isn't comparable.  The grind is comparable to srixon which is great.  Mine have 120 PX 120lz with regular sized velvets.

I would say the 99% as good as second can be are the pxg 211 ST irons.  They are very very very underrated.  So much so that I actually play them on all trips that I send my clubs to and "away' trips to travel locally for some reason. I suspect I should just change to them and drop the kyoei's.  They are silly pricey not to buy a set from 4-pw for 89bucks/stick.  great set.  I am not sure they are still available as they are an older set.  mine have the standard elevate 95's in them as I bought them as a set I sent to florida for a 30a trip and did not want to spend anything extra for them.  That shaft is great. Launches in my window and feels great to me.   I prob should buy a second set just to store so when they stop making them.  Feel is very close to the kyoei but honestly, nothing comes close to the KK's but i'd never set down the 0211ST for the price for sure.

To each his own, but if price was a concern, the 0211st is a crazy steal and the kk's are icing on the cake.

I have to second this opinion on the 0211 STs.  I have 5-PW, and I got them for $550 shipped, which is unreal for brand new blades.  Looks are exactly what I'd expect, fan of the white line on the bottom groove. Feel is superb, and performance is actually quite surprising when it comes to forgiveness.  Turf interactive doesn't even enter my thoughts as it performs as it's intended.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

That is interesting, I really liked soles on the MB001s and I have a flatter swing. Didn’t have any trouble with digging even in wet conditions.

Agreed, love the MB-001 sole. I am on the shallow side too unless I’m trying to hit a knockdown ball in back of stance type shot, then I expect a grave digger divot - but they do cut through pretty nicely. They certainly dig less than the older tournament blades.

I tried the 7i at the PGA superstore last week and was surprised at how nice they looked and felt. Pretty good ballspeed as well from a more traditional lofted club.

I played the Wilson blades a couple of years ago and I would have no problem playing them again. Very forgiving for a blade if there is such a thing

Would love to hear your thoughts on the 8-iron once you've tested it... waiting for their new more compact model to come out, which should be in the next couple months.
