He once said in a post-round interview that he wouldn't be going to a concert at the course because "I can't handle an open bar"

I saw Bacon's tweet about no longer being part of GC/NBC. Not surprising since I can't remember the last time I saw him on there. But it seems curious and I wonder what happened. They hired him as one of the people they moved to Stamford after shutting down the Golf Channel's Florida studios and cutting loose a lot of those staffers. I remember him talking about the bedlam involved in moving house to Connecticut on short notice in January of that first year. It looked like he would become one of the mainstays of the new operation - he had done good work for Fox when they had the USGA deal and it seemed like he was a rising star. The "Golf Today" show they used him in originally was pretty awful and having Damon Hack and Tripp Isenhaur as your sidekicks was always going to be a bit of an albatross to carry around, so I wonder if he just had enough and got into a beef with some of the suits? No word so far if he quit, was fired, or otherwise had a disagreement with his bosses. Will be interesting to eventually hear the details when they finally come out.

I was wondering where he was. I thought he was pretty good in his role. Did he want the primetime NBC gig that Smylie and Faxon got?
