Masters Themed Wedding

This epic Masters-themed wedding included a message from Jim Nantz (golf.com)

 

Maybe I am a curmudgeon but I read this article and was pretty shocked by a number of things, in order:

 

- This couple had a masters themed wedding even though neither of them have been to the actual Masters

- The groom is a 12 hdcp. I mean, that's fine but I would think if golf was this Important to you....you would be a *little* bit better

- The bride has been playing golf since 2020. And she allowed this to be the theme of her wedding? 

- This guy has basically forced himself to play golf with his wife forever presumably, not sure I would have done that.

 

Anyone else have any thoughts? Am I just being a jerk here? Also it is odd to me when a groom seems to have more influence over the wedding day than the bride. Maybe that is sexist but I always kind of thought of it is as "her" day.

I dunno. As long as they had fun and she wasn’t strong armed into it I think it’s ok. 
 

I sort of skimmed the headline initially and thought it said the wedding “included a massage from Jim Nantz”.  That part was a bit much. 😂

My attitude on such things is usually "you do you", but this, like all overdone, overcooked, and overthought weddings, is just silly and frankly, immature IMO.

 

What I have the biggest issue with is stealing someone else's logo for your own use.  Not smart.

This was just super cringe worthy.  Just get married and stop the side shows.  I wish ANGC could sue these people for using their logo, and permanently ban them from the course in a public fashion.

Yeah i agree with this. Cmon fellas if they had a good time who cares, it's their wedding. Do you know what else is a waste of money, cringy, silly and mostly forgettable? EVERY OTHER WEDDING. People spend like 5000$ on photographers so they can look at them once and then lose the USB key, and their wives obsess over flowers and colors they won't remember 2 weeks later.

 

As far as the girl, southern girls just seem more down with sports and supporting their dudes hobbies....this girl musta been from like Louisana or Alabama or something right? I mean those girls go to college football games with you and actually like it

 

Never in a million years would this fly with a woman from the northeast.

Anything that involves Jim Nantz is cringe worthy. 
Also why the f*!k do people have need to be so over the top with everything from weddings, to reveals, graduations etc. Social media I guess. So much “look at me”.

I swear I think I enjoy the Masters on TV as much as anyone. It basically marks the official beginning of the golf season around here so I always look forward to it. 

 

But, just like so many other things, it seems like people want to blow it out of proportion and turn it into something it's not. It's a low-key turn off. 

 

I don't think AN or its members are immune by any stretch. Last year I pulled up the Google Maps of the property and learned about this new Berckman's Place. It's a huge hospitality venue for their corporate partners that is literally only operated during Masters week.

I thought having the huge permanent merch shop on site to be open one week a year was a colossal waste but this takes the cake.
