Modified Winter Golf Schedule

Not feeling the thrill of playing early with the cold weather, so I am going to start much later and limit the game to just nine holes for now. DST will be here next week and even more loss of daylight, so nine holes keeps it simple. I find it easier to take a walk with a golf club in the hand. Will be pushing the Clic Gear cart as well. I really need the exercise from walking too, keeps the blood pressure down. I have no idea where all the extra weight came from.

Playin 9 tonight after work and that'll likely be the last day with enough daylight to pull off the after work game.

Glad I am retired so that doesn't stop me. I was in the same boat, but not now. The coming cooler weather will modify my playing schedule.

Here in New Jersey, I played my last round of golf on 11/1, won't play again until probably sometime in April, 6 months off.

Looks like here in corn country Illinois, tomorrow’s round is it for this year, 75 and partly cloudy. Then Friday high of 42.  April as well for next round.

Same in Indiana, and of course, I don't get to play.  Last I saw we were looking at 62 on Friday, so I am hopeful I can get out then.  I tend to play year-round though.  It isn't so bad once you are acclimated to the weather.

We are finally getting some much needed rain here in Northern California, so I probably won't play much this week. Our son is bringing a friend of his as a guest to our club on Sunday, so fingers crossed the weather holds out.

 

We've definitely moved to starting later in the morning as opposed to early now that the overnight temps are down in the low 40's.

up in Canada east cost, just played all weekend. we got very lucky with weather and temps. going forward its basically sim season here now. thankfully my buddy owns a business running 2 sims. we play weekly if we want.

One or two games a week max from now until April. Course shut for last three days due to heavy rain. On the dreaded mats for Sunday's competition.

i play until there is snow on the ground up here in Wisc., unless it is colder than 30

I'll play as long as I can get a peg in the ground. For the most part that's through December here. January and February might see a week or two off due to snow - but, if the courses are open, I'm generally out there.

Corrected, thank you sir. Played in the Western Hills men's tourny Tues and Thurs, and the mood was very little golf in the future. That's okay, my body feels like crap anyways and needs to heal, like surgery coming soon.

The boys at Western Hills GC want to freeze our arses off after Thanksgiving! How can I say no?

Late fall has been a yo-yo around here. Temperature went from 50*, up to 80* and down to 30* in 48 hours. Will freeze at night for the next couple of weeks.

 

Local golf pro decided not to purchase the driving range acreage he's leased for the past decade. He's moving his operation indoors with three simulator bays, a lesson bay and a 600-square-foot indoor putting green. Will also have a snack bar, adult beverages, and a group reception room.

 

Will probably hit balls a couple of times a week for swing maintenance. If it's not 60*, I don't usually play.

 

Plus, if I use cold weather to get real-world projects out of the way, I can restart with vigor in March and really get the game in shape.

Today was really nice, so I played 18, and expect it to be good next week. Love being retired as I can get the really good rates right now during the week.

It's been awhile since I last played, 10/30 was my last round. I'm hoping to get out somewhere at least once a week, but I think that might be after Christmas. I've been trying to think of a practice plan, and I have some ideas, but right now it's more just trying to find the time.

Got out for 18 Saturday, wasn't too bad considering there was a foot of snow here a week ago. Couple spots of standing water, couple bunker ponds. Played a 2 man scramble.

Today was just doable for golf. It was raining lightly and very few players. I only passed 4 groups as a single. Shot 44, 41, and was struggling for some reason. Putter was killing me. Just glad to get 18 in as next week is all rain. Had to break out a Hot Hands warmer. The wind was brutal at times. The new hybrids, the BB21's, were just plain awesome!   I just ordered the 6 hybrid to finish the set.

A very chilly 50° 😉 here in Nor Cal. I’ll pretty much play unless it’s actually raining. Walking keeps me warm enough. Appreciate the rain we recently had but it sure slowed the greens.

Golf is about to end this year for me with the coming cold front. I played Monday and the wind made it rough. I did okay score wise, but it was no fun at all. Cold is one thing, but adding high winds is another.

Lots of snow on the ground right now, but it is now melting. Tomorrow will be just a bit warmer, and more snow gone. I was hoping to play Thursday but have my doubts now. The ground might be way to soggy.

Sunday and Monday are looking pretty good around here. Upper 50's a week after single digits and above freezing overnight temps for several days. Ground should be soggy, but will accept a peg.

 

With the holiday I'm hoping to play two days in a row. We will see what the wife and kids have to say about that.
