I use a Sumiko Black Pearl. I think I paid a bit over $100 for it. Spending big bucks on cartridge's just ain't worth it in my opinion. The Pearl is highly recommended by Thorens users.

i have a 1925 victor victrola that’s been handed down through a few generations. 

 

it’s been a few years since it was working though. i looked all over brooklyn and new york city but couldn’t find anyone who works on them. and now where i live in connecticut there are a ton of vintage and antique stores, but still no dice. 

 

it’s getting to the point where i’m tempted to take it apart and try fixing it myself. the motor inside can’t be all that complicated. it might be an easy fix. 

 

id love to hear that thing play some music again.

Lou Tendler's  featured a that classic looking cocktail menu for the time. 

From the menu there are three drinks that are still ordered today, the Manhattan, Cuba Libre (rum and coke), and a frozen Daiquiri.  

 

Enjoyed the menus. 

 

Reminiscent of Lee's Chinese Restaurant near where I grew up.
