Very interesting Tour Cameron

A friend sent me these pictures of a tour made Cameron putter.  Any guesses who this putter belonged to?  🙂

 

I am verifying with the tour player if this was his putter.  I am looking at archived pictures of this tour pro putting to see if this putter was ever gamed on tour.  I am certain this is definitely authentic and a one-off custom tour made putter.

With no actual knowledge, my guess was also Fred Funk. Which would be great since this is a bit of a funky looking putter haha

A Classic Big Sur ground down to the players liking. Very cool tour putter.

 

Interesting to see the levels of tinkering Scotty Cameron goes to in order to make his players happy on the greens.

Yeah, really.  If it were made for Fred Funk it would be a tour putter.  This is was what I was told and the source is trustworthy.  We'll see as I have reached out to Fred Funk but it seems as if he's not real active on Twitter.

Very cool stick, took me a while to figure out what that started as. I've seen probably a half dozen Funk putters out there, but none with as much work as this one. And most are face balanced or have had something done to give them less toe hang/flow, as this center shaft might be, and all with the same F.F. initials.

Now THAT'S a cool Tour piece!!!   Yes, a Big Sur to start and let the grinding begin!  My bet is that the "Titleist" had to be removed due to some sort of contract issue, but it is extremely cool to see a piece that HAD to have some hands on it to make it TOUR. 

I popped into this thread after a walk thru the "past members" thread.  The names I see here bring back memories of conversations that did not always go good directions, but life is short and I look back now and have no idea what the arguments were about.  It HAD to be something important though, right? 

Robo, that is a very cool piece and I am excited that you have shared it.  Maybe some of the putter makers here will see that, become inspired and a new look will sprout up, LOL.

Is it more likely that they bored out the cavity to take off weight? A big sur is a beast, and this looks to be a standard size putter now.  I saw that in a couple other odd birds like this.
