Titleist 2023 irons

They are supposedly out of 150 heads again, next shipment is expected on the 15th. I have had 10 different dates so far. last week it dropped down to the 8th  then the next day the 15th and the day after back to 18th. 9-1 was my original date.

I think someone is dropping the ball on these heads. Multiple reports of people getting orders before other who placed earlier. I got the same run around and ordered first of august so ended up canceling and buying from an in stock retailer online. I’ll reshaft them myself at this rate. Titleist told me it’s “first in, first out” but that obviously isn’t the case. I had another rep who told me they are pushing out “stock” orders first since those are heads at more readily available that something like upright/flat/loft changed. Who knows.

Very true. T150 order on 8/22, shipment received 9/1. But, they screwed up the specs.

T200 4i came in as I’m still waiting on the T150s. Took the wrapper off to hit a shot into 18 with a chance a first for league that night. 218 over water to 15 feet. Partner missed the putt. We took second. Got me thinking whether I should have gone T200 all the way. Great club!

I only ordered one iron. T-150 5 iron DGTI X100 SSx1 with BCT grip.

It’s the shafts. I talked to CS the other day and they’re waiting on shafts. I ordered t100 with TIx100 and that’s what’s holding up the build.

This is true.  Especially with KBS shafts.

 

Still doesn’t answer the question why there was an up charge for the TT Dynamic Gold 105 S shafts in my 15year old’s T200 Set

Seeing quite a few people with problems with specs from Titleist. I’ve never ordered anything directly from them. Surprises me for a brand that I have always equated with quality and precision. Would it be better to order through TXG or True Spec or something like that? Obviously would be more expensive.

Shafts have been a mess with every vendor since Covid. Some have recovered better than others. Titleist having Modus 105 as stock option could be why they upcharge. Have those in bulk, would rather you get those instead of DG105. That is why they upcharge.

well I got out today and brought my t200 5 iron and my U505 4 iron with me 

still waiting on my T150 6 to pitching wedge to ship , I didn't get to hit the five iron but used the 505 on a couple of long par threes and a few short dogleg par fours that club should be illegal absolutely launches the ball into oblivion it has a hazardous smoke 90 gram hybrid shaft in it and the 5 iron has a Nippon Modus tour 120 stiff in it , I'm really impressed with the 505 it's even good out of the rough on one par 5 I hit my drive in the left hand rough I had 246 left to the flag and put it 5 yards from the green .

I wonder if the problems with KBS has something to do with Taylormade, I'm sure some sort of deal was cut to make them the stock shaft for the MC line etc. KBS moved all their production to Vietnam during covid, so supply shouldn't be an issue with them anymore.

I’m thinking about ordering at 505. Did you happen to hit the t200 utility build? I’m going back and forth between the two right now for a 3 iron.

Unfortunately I did not get to hit the T200 utility build but I do have the 5 iron T200 and I find it very easy to hit ,try to hit both and go from there .

I spoke with a Titleist master fitter the other day about the new T100 irons.

He said the former T100s irons are being completely phased out. I guess there is an issue with the balance / weighting when you get to the 7 or 8 iron. The new T100 is designed specifically to resolve the issue.

He also mentioned that one way to attempt solving the problem like this is to do a combo-set, something like 4-6 T100s and the rest T200 or T300. He said that unfortunately, there is no set of irons in their lineup that truly solves the problem, so a combo-set is not a good solution.

So, the new T100 was born.

Probably a shop who offers those shafts for fittings or builds. I’d imagine going that route will be pricey. I don’t think any manufacturer offers them as an option. It may be an option if you call them?

Wait a bit until you can get a set of T150s second hand, will save you a few hundred bucks.

Pull the shafts that comes with them, sell them.

Get a good shop to install the Axioms.

Special order just the heads from Titleist, order the shafts from Grips4less, and have a master builder build them?

Unless you are willing to build them yourself, I think "the best way" really depends on your options and patience. Where I am, the choices are as follows:

 

• Club Champion (the one near me in White Plains NY has always done good work)
• A reputable custom clubfitter nearby who can source the head and the shafts that you want
• A top online clubfitter (ala Joe Kwok and others referenced on these forums)
• Fairway Golf (they can definitely build you a set to your desired specs, although I have never had them do one for me - stuff I have purchased from them was quite good, though)

 

For me, the custom clubfitters can be hard to find and contact, and require the most patience, so I tend to skip that option.

Golfdom Golf here in Northern VA sells Titleist iron heads.  I know they still have the 2021 iron heads, but it might be too early for them to carry the 2023 models.

I only saw people who did their fittings back in early July get those, but those were paid fitting events. I believe it was $100 for the fitting.
