Can we tell who eagled, Lilia or Nelly? One must have picked up the ball after the other one eagled. They must have been on the green.

It's weird, but the LPGA leaderboard shows both players with a 2 on the par 4 6th.

One of them holed out her 2nd shot on a Par 4; everybody picked up their ball after that; no way of knowing who holed out.

Lilia holed out.

Lol. Kaye has been on the road a little too long. Buy a Brewers ticket in San Francisco?

Danielle is looking solid today.

That said, Morgan is grasping at straws. Danielle walks a lot of awful putts in. She's often ready to tap in the miss before it stops rolling. Lol.

1.  They all moved to Sacramento like me and are too lazy to drive back.

2.  At the Giants/Brewers game.

3.  Waiting for the Warriors game at 5:30 PST.

@Sanfran328 Yes, the rough at Harding is a half stroke penalty. The routing this week confuses the heck out of me.

No kidding, it really doesn't make any sense.  It's too much work as viewer trying to figure out the routing.  Would have been nice if they put a course map on the tournament website but I guess that's too much to ask.  I gave up watching the snooze fest.

Foursome is worth 1 point and single is worth 2 points a piece.

My pick is Lexi and Lilia for singles; Nelly and Danielle for foursome.

Do the point's even matter, though? The foursome matches are heads up. Winner moves on to the finals.

You’re right.

However, I’s wrong earlier; single is also worth 1 point.

Sorry, what do you guys mean by the foursomes matches are heads up.  Winner moves on to the finals?

Aren't there three matches (in the semis), first team to 2 points wins.  I.e. win 2 matches (2 singles or 1 singles + foursomes) and you advance to the finals?  If they go 1-1-1 what is the playoff/tiebreaker?

All matches get played out. No half points.

Down to the semi finals and from what I have watched the Thais are looking hard to beat. Our programming is not showing any live coverage yet of the semis but hopefully we get some.

Grant Boone has mentioned a few times Lynn Grant and not being able to play with her first appearance in the US will be at the Bank of Hope Matchplay. I am surprised he does not know she is entered to play the Aramco Team Series the week before. I take it the Golf Channel will cover this Florida tournament.

I find it funny he calls Moriya Ariya's big sister...older sister would be more correct 😂

I love matchplay, played lots in my (half decent) amateur life in Oz. It's a staple in the UK and commonwealth (and plenty in the US, too).

The Solheim is my favourite event. Think about that, I'm an Aussie, why would that interest me? Why, it's just the best golf 'theatre', I have no Euro/US bias, just love the best matchplay women's golf.

I've enjoyed this Crown event so far but the format is so flawed: the England team debacle and a virtually dead rubber 3rd day...WTF?

Mike Whan is just wrong, we need a women's President's cup with an America's team (yes, Mike, an America's team, so what if there is no America's flag, the UK is no longer part of the EU and each Euro country's player drapes themselves in their country's flag anyway).

Think about an America's team with the best US players plus say Brooke, Gabby Lopez and maybe Maddie Szeryk in the 12 (all who will have some US fan following anyway), vs an international (non-Euro) team with Lydia, Minjee, Jeeno plus the top Koreans, Japanese, maybe Ash Buhai?

That will be a terrific contest. Alternate years to the Solheim, US players get to represent their country every year. Simply the best women's golf, probably even better than the Solheim considering the strength of Asian players.

This Crown event is too flawed, its ok but can be so much better.

Ok, so I have lurked on this forum for over six years, and your comment brought me out of the woodwork (still waiting for my account).

As a Thai golf fan, I consider your proposal an insult.

If you ask people from the Asian parts of the world: why do we care about golf? After money and winning, the answer would be ‘for the pride of our nation.’ Se Ri, Ai Miyazato, Ariya, Yuka Saso - they are symbols that we belong in a world that always tell us that we don’t. And in women’s golf, we have done enough.

Since 2013, Korea’s 12th best player have been better than the US’s median player at Solheim selection in every year but 2015 (barely) and 2021. Japan as one nation is not much worse than Europe as a continent, and Thailand have six players in the top 100. We have done enough to not be relegated to an ‘international’ team that has to include Australia and New Zealand, that involves putting US-equal Korea with their hated enemy Japan. And for what reason? Because North America is somehow so exceptional that they get to form their own team no matter what?

The International Crown can bring the crowd. We have seen it in 2018, and yesterday Korean fans are lining tee to green to see their eliminated team play, and will do so again when the event goes to Korea in 2025. Mike Whan might not get it perfect, but he is very much right on this call. If you want a team-on-team theatre, I suggest drawing the line at West vs East. America + Europe vs the Rest of the World. Now that would be something more appropriate.

The international nature of this event make me almost prefer it to the Solheim Cup

That said, there’s lots of matches on the golf course. We should be seeing every shot, instead of only Nelly and Lexi

I definitely think this has the potential to be bigger than the solheim cup. Definitely a more interesting tournament.

That said, the LPGA really needs to step up the coverage.

Today in Australia, the coverage was about 95% the US matches. Couple shots from the Aus matches, none of the Korean matches. Couple of putts from the China matches and that's it. Even then, the coverage seemed skewed to the DK/Lexi match more than the Korda/Vu match.

OK, I was totally confused. The way they were talking up the foursomes, I thought there would be a single foresome match to determine the winner of the semifinals. Duh. There are in fact two singles matches in addition to the foursome match, for a total of three matches.

Now, I understand what you're saying!

But, it doesn't matter whether the singles match is worth 1 or 2 points; it takes two matches to win.
