I still say the most impressive thing this guy did is recover from that shank he hit on Friday.  Forget about how he played, how he finished, the ace, etc:  the fact that he was able to put one foot in front of the other after that foul ball was crazy.

Funny thing is he didn't put it in play. Stuck to old reliable for both the driver and the irons (I gather they made him some P7MCs at one point that he hasn't put in play). Gotta love this guy.

10000% agree.  We've all hit one in a casual round and we all know the hardest shot in golf is the shot following the reverse-hook.  Even though he dumped it in the bunker and made double, still just an outstanding performance across the board.  Then to make a magical week even more magical, he got to play with Rory in the final round, dunk one for an ace, cash a big old check, and get a couple of sponsor exemptions.  Just fairy tale after fairy tale for the young man, love it.

Most golfer's bags that play for a living are very much that way. They figured out much earlier than us that the indian is much more important.

He doesn't teach much and doesn't take on new students at this time.

Yep, exactly this, he said so during an interview with I think it was Amanda over the weekend after Saturday's round, or maybe the walk and talk with Nantz and Immelman.

I can say this with certainty. I know him and his family. He is a local teaching pro. I hit balls with his boys. Dylan moves the ball a freaking country mile. And his youngest, Ethan is such a good kid. Up and coming studs.

Cool...I hope they both make it through US Open Qualifying, that would make an already great year even better.  Could you imagine them being paired together in the first two rounds of the US Open.   I obviously don't know him, but from the many interviews I saw this weekend, I think while he would be proud as hell, he'd have a tough time keeping it together!

Love the UDI as a 4 iron. Something I’m thinking of copying from him, and probably something more of us should consider.

Was using a U500 for a bit and then a T200 long iron replacement. Experimenting with a Miura TC-201 4-iron.
