Strange to see him still rocking the G425 LST vs the G430, when the 430 is supposed to be that much better.  Shrug, not like he hasn't had the opportunity to test everything Ping wants to throw at him.  Also a tad surprised to see him in the TD-T Paradym, vs G430 FW, though if it's like the Rogue ST version it will absolutely nuke spin w/o a doubt.

 

What was the base loft on those Vapor Flys?  21°?  More?  Again, Pro, and the Pro knows their stuff infinitely more than I ever would, but the long irons in the i210 and likely i230 series as well, are absurdly forgiving and easy to get up.

That doesn't bother me near as much, its the tape on the bottom just being very straight for 2 lines then the 3rd line is just all over the place.

I got into golf right around when these came out. They looked awesome back then but most people didn’t like the blue.

I owned an i500 3 iron that was his with addi. It was so low launching it’s hard to describe.  I had a 20 something strong man hit it and he said “ my lord , that’s low “ perfect stinger machine without trying.  Must have been tipped to the max.  It was i500 with the logo milled off. I bought it from pro clubs. Hand etched Serial. When I called ping to ask the specs , and gave the serial , the very next words the guy said was “ how’d you get that “. 😂….and after a conversation he told me it was built for Tony to Try.  This was back when the i500 was new .

Both Finau and Hovland are still in 425.  Honestly, not that surprising.  Pros are slow to change and not that much production difference between them. 
 

Really like that anser d.  Seriously thinking about picking one up.  Been after a milled double wide for while.

That combined with the fact that both of them really took steps forward ranking wise during the G425's life cycle, especially Finau. Tough to make changes for some when you're on the rise for fear of messing with it.

It’s one of the first heads made.  Was told they milled the i500 off so that if anyone saw it the name wouldn’t be leaked yet.  Probably also has a “ scribed “ serial number instead of a laser engraved one?

Agree!  Hovland’s play this year has been incredible, especially as of late.
