Sure. I dont have kids so it doesnt matter there. What I'm getting at is why is a golf show rated TV-MA? Are we trying to make it look like golf is edgy and provocative? Honestly it made all these guys look worse than some edgy vibe. Just my opinion.

I think the U.S. Ryder Cup organization needs to let go of this idea of choosing someone as captain because "it's his time." ZJ was an assistant captain a couple times and I guess that's supposed to matter? 

 

IMO Tiger should be made perpetual RC Captain until he no longer wants to do it. If we lose it won't be because the team didn't gel or wasn't motivated etc.

I'm glad he'll be in the majors for a while.  One of the many reasons I love sports: rooting against is often just as exciting as rooting for. 

DJ had essentially admitted he did it for the money (rather than trying to "grow the game") and resigned from the tour, which are two positions I respected him for.  But saying he took a risk is absurd.  What was the risk exactly?

Monahan, DJ & JT are very hard to like while Rory comes across as being very naive 

 

However, it’s reality tv so don’t read too much into an edited series

In the Ryder Cup eps, I was quite surprised to see that there was no footage of, or reflection on, Hovland and Aberg beating Scheffler and Koepka 9&7 on Saturday morning and sending them back to the club house while breakfast was still being served. It was an astonishing, historic outcome (biggest RC match win ever?) which left SS in tears. I wonder if Brooksie or others asked/told the producers not to include it?

I for the life of me did not remember that Alex Fitzpatrick had such a good finish in The Open Championship.  Interesting to see him fare so much better than he felt he played previously in the Zurich with Matt

Watching it back on the final episode, Cantlay and LaCava really made an a** of themselves in Rome.

So I didn't watch the Ryder cup in 2023 but saw most of the highlights on Golf Channel in the evenings. These episodes were great to see.

 

Captain Zach, yeah it's a tough position but maybe next time not act and talk like a 22 year old frat boy hanging in the house with your pledges. Felt terrible for Keegan as he earned a spot based on the numbers and his more recent play. Can't blame JT as of course he wanted to be on the team and he actually played better than most once there. But that was brutal to watch. Maybe just one more example of why the US has never been great at building a unified team like Europe has over the past 35 years that I've watched this event.

 

How in the world does the US team not play for 5 weeks before those matches? Well, they played like they haven't played in 5 weeks for sure. That is a systemic problem for the entire US organization. It must be changed. I don't care about schedules the playoffs or whatever. That must change. Back in the days before NBA players played in the Olympics, the college kids were months after their season ended. Those teams played exhibition games agains NBA players in advance of the Olympics for that very reason. Figure it out, make it happen. Something. If you want to play on that team then you make yourself available or stay home.

 

Joe LaCava - WTH were you doing? You're not playing, get out of the way. Rory was likely a little touchy about that one but Joe has no business lingering around in front of a player preparing to putt. I like Joe but he didn't look good in that exchange.

 

I LOVE Italy and would love to play that course but not sure it's worth dragging clubs over there to play after consuming 6,000 calorie meals and too many bottles of wine each evening.

 

These guys do care. They live pampered lives traveling from one 5-star resort to another, play golf for a few days and receive a king's ransom. None of those guys need money. But seeing the raw emotion from the winning team and the losing team every two years makes certain in my mind - the Ryder Cup is the greatest event in golf.

None of those 4 were featured on the show, so it would've just been something that was mentioned at most.

Yeah that was cool, but having to hear about Alex "being in Matt's shadow" 7,000 times was the least enjoyable part of season 2.

Saw the episodes where Zach makes the calls to his picks. Kind of interesting to see behind the scenes some of the potential picks hanging out with Zach prior to his choices. Rickie, Jordan and JT eating all eating at a table at I assume at Zachs house and dropping comments asking for Zach to pick them, lol. Trying to get on his good side, can't really blame them. Keegan and those others who didn't get picked seemed very distant from Zach during this time.

Well Zach based his picks on them already being a close unit of guys so that is more unified of a team which played into his decision I'm sure. While Keegan played good last year, I'm not really sure he should have been picked over JT etc. He's an older player now and while he did play better that year I've seen him fall apart in recent years during playoffs. He also wasn't attempting to get close with Zach during this time or the other guys to be a more unified team. If you have two players who are a tossup to chose between, you pick the one who gels with the other guys more which is JT. 

 

Besides Keegan would have had to add another loss to his Ryder cup appearances. They weren't winning that thing, I could tell that from the beginning, over in Europe and the Euro team looked very strong on paper.

The US Ryder Cup process got exposed for what many thought it was.  Maybe time for another task force to correct what the first task force didn’t get right?

 

Some of these captains are bumbling idiots, reduce the number of captain picks.

Better to have players who want to be there for the event and are driven to win than guys who just want to have a chill week with their buds. The Euro team wasn't just strong on paper, they were cohesive and wanted the victory.

I could tell and was saying it leading up to the ryder cup that the Euro team looked stronger on paper, wasn't a surprise at least to me. I'm not sure saying his picks didn't want to be there is accurate.

His picks were good golfers, all of them were near each other in ranking. They weren't Zach's buddies, they aren't hanging out with him outside the tour on a regular basis. Looks like they did spend more time with him leading up to the Ryder Cup which is normal, that is how you get a close team and went into his picks. 

 

I haven't seen more of the episodes but the big mistake is not playing for 5 weeks leading up to it. That is the issue IMO, not the picks.

Two episodes for the Ryder Cup was too much. Was an OK season. Didn’t feel like it was letting us in on the stuff we don’t see as much as the first season. This was most likely the last season of Full Swing.

Netflix renewals are almost exclusively decided by replays. Nobody is replaying anything from this season.
