Full Swing season 2 (*** NO LIV DISCUSSIONS ***)

Two episodes in and I think it’s stronger than last season. They have dig deep into LIV and the PGA, and all the mis communication. 
I’m expecting the Ryder Cup episodes to be very interesting.

Two episodes in also. I always thought Fowler was a first class human, he just keeps fortifying it. 

 

Looking forward to watching more.

The Ryder Cup ones were ok at best. The US didn't allow them any behind the scenes access (X and Cantlay vetoed it apparently) so it was more of just a recap of what happened. Still enjoyable but nothing golf sickos didn't already know.

Also, as an unabashed Keegan Bradley disliker, I hate that this season made me almost, maybe, sorta, kinda like him (only thing I liked about him before was that he was a Pats fan and buddies with Brady)

 

They do a good job showing how much he cares for the RC and, even though, I obviously knew he didn't make it, that call from ZJ still felt like a gut punch.

I thought the same thing. I mean, I guess she's allowed an opinion, but she's not the first person I'd seek out for that particular one.

Me personally, I think Rory is great. The guy fell on his sword for the PGA, and I think he is handling it the best anyone can. But I can see how people might look at him as arrogant. I just don't see it, or it isn't enough to bother me I guess. 

And as for the Allison vs Paulina debate, Allison wins in a landslide for me.

Same. Now a fan of Bradley. 

Seems like a genuinely good guy. A few comments he made you can definitely tell he works for everything, maybe not as blessed with the natural gift as some others. Also, wearing his USA cap in the RC episode. You could tell he was hurting, felt for him.

Fully agree that he’s an insufferable LIV fanboy now, for justifiable reasons of course, but still. Had to unsubscribe from his podcast because of that.

I agree, it made me feel bad for Keegan. 
 

also, made me dislike Zach Johnson even more, and I really didn’t know that was possible. It affirmed the rumors that he may have picked his friends over the best person who had the best chances to perform

well.

Dear Netflix,

 

If I want a recap of the Ryder Cup I can watch it on Youtube.  Really enjoyed Tom Kim and the Fitzpatrick brothers.

Season started off awesome. Then they dropped the ball so fing bad it was pointless. 
 

where was the tpc WM footage or the Michael block footage? So many big moments missed. 
 

I did like capturing some Rory and JT mild breakdowns and Brooks return to form. Cool Rickie moments too. Solid 6/10 overall.

I enjoyed this season more than the 1st.  Ryder cup could have been covered in 1 episode instead of 2.  Wyndam / Joel episode was interesting.  Wasn't sure if it was just pure luck that they happened to film Wyndam the same year he won the US open or do they film a large number then cut out a lot of content from other pros.

The Rickie footage was great.  It speaks to his character how he told WC “your Mom would be really proud of you right now” right after they holed out on 18 after the US Open.  Class dude all around.  I was kind of surprised when he opened up a bit in his backyard speaking to how he doesn’t talk much and it’s really hard for him to express his emotions.  It would be so great to see him get his first major this year.

Only through 2 episodes, so may not be a good take, I like it so far. Good dynamic between Rory and Brooks in episode 1. I like watching both of them, they're interesting in differnt ways. 

 

I do have somewhat respect for Rory leaving out his personal life. It's good to see in some sense, and I'm sure the producers push it, but some of the wives do give off the "my husband swings a golf club very well therefore I'm important" vibe. 

 

Also, Rickie is funny to me. The whole "I suck but my wife is awesome", I know he might be trying to be nice, but I'm sure most of these PGA tour wives won't be around if a couple commons fell out of the bank account.

Both Keegan and also Lucas Glover should've been on the last Ryder Cup team.

 

Glover won on back-to-back weeks right before the Ryder Cup and the second one was a FedEx Cup playoff event, for crying out loud.

 

A former US Open champ on a hot streak isn't good enough to warrant a pick? Give me a break.

Seems they made a bigger deal of Fowler conceding the putt to Fleetwood to win the Ryder Cup than Cap’n Johnson intervening on Spieth’s club selection @16.  I assumed that would have been inlcuded but nope, nothing.

 

Agree with @golferdude54about Glover and Keegan.  Should have been selected for sure.  Hindsight is always 20/20 but they would have been better picks than Burns and Fowler.

 

This season was okay, the Tom Kim and Fitzpatrick eps being the ones I enjoyed the most.  Does anyone know if Netflix is filming for a third season?  I’d like to see some behind the scenes LIV footage in addition to the PGA.

Just funny to me regarding Ricky, at some point do you think to yourself want am I bringing if none of the other stuff. Not to hate on Ricky, just one of those things that’s difficult because I’m sure when you’re famous on that level everything in the back of your mind just has to be “people only like me bc I’m good at XYZ”. Weirdly, I thought this was some what reverberated in the Dahmen episode, as he got famous on Netflix but now I think he feels everyone expects something from him all the time and I don’t know if he was/is ready to handle that.

• None of these guys seem likeable (besides Rickie) 
• Not sure why Joel Dahmen has fans. Doesn't work hard and sucks because of it. 
• Nothing against Tom Kim, but there was not enough there to carry a full episode 
• Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick is really scraping the bottom of the barrel for content
