They are both soon to be 44.  Which is on the older side of the scale in professional sports.  Glover is the only player even close to that age, he’s also 44, ahead of them in the rankings.  It makes a big difference in the grind of professional golf.

Same issue both battle; what's between the ears.  I don't see age as the factor that you do, nor is distance.

They both can play a variety of clubs well and could stick with a set for awhile and play about the same. But they are looking for their unicorns and not afraid to keep searching. Also as much as folks don't think this, it's a reality that pros golf swings naturally change, albeit incrementally and unintentionally from month to month. This can mean that one week they feel pretty good with their setup and their swing is in the groove, they could hit a butter knife, no problem. A month later, they may have lost that groove a little bit and may feel they need to switch to a more forgiving setup, even if it's marginally forgiving.
