Shorts weather

OK guys (and gals). Spring is here. What’s your temperature threshold for wearing shorts on the course? 50*? 55*? Anytime?

No wind - in the high 50's or 60's and sunny.  Windy - mid 70's.  I used to be young and stupid.  Got older and less stupid.

I'm Canadian and even I wait till it's like 65

If I’m walking - sunny & 55 (no wind)

I wear regular shorts 65+. I wear North Face water resistant hiking pants with zip off legs when it is cooler. I can always zip off the legs and have shorts if I get hot.

 

Unless I am playing a high dollar course I am a hiking pants, cargo shorts type of guy. I love the versatility of zip off legs and side pockets.

I'm the guy wearing shorts in winter.  My general rule is if it's too cold for shorts it's too cold to play.

Pants until it's 90+ and even then it's a toss up. I'll trade off the warmth for sun protection.

80+, though I now generally wear lightweight long pants in anything above 60 for sun/bug protection.

I wear shorts ALL the time, but suppose cutoff is high 30s.  Lower temps I put on long pants.

Above 50 as long as the suns out. 

 

Played all day today, started at 50 degrees, ended the day at 68.  Started with a Greyson Colorado hoodie, took it off midday, then put it back on around 6pm.  Felt so good to be in shorts, sun shining bright and chasing the little white ball around with some of my best mates.  What a time.  Reds opening day yesterday, golf all day today, NCAA tournament, Masters soon, RBC trip after that.  Bring on summer!!

I wear pants all year.  My legs are hideously white, I have chicken calves and my mom died from melonoma (skin cancer). 

 

The sweet options of pants nowadays, I don't need shorts. 

Lastly, you look sharper w/ pants.

50F/10C and sunny with no wind I'll rock shorts. If windy but sunny maybe after 65F/18C but if cloudy and windy pants up until 70-75F or so.
