I play Gross or Columbia every Thursday, usually in the morning. Been paired up with a ton of great guys and forced them to suffer through my company! In all seriousness, I'm pretty easy-going and love to get out and "escape" for a few hours. Two years ago, I had the "Common Man" card and played those courses every Sunday and Monday, as well.

Any great deals out there on a "card" or membership near the metro?

Keeps kids in shape, great community ties...

Other than staying hotels every weekend, paying $ for equip, and two practices a day at the rink.. Whats not to love?

Grandma bought me Ram Tom Watsons with persimmon driver and fw wood and 3 irons and a putter.
Half the fun of golf at that age was finding golf balls, so no expense there, really.
Mom dropped me off at the executive course a few miles away once or twice a week whenever convenient for her. They made me bike there when older. LOL!

WAAAAAY cheaper and 1/100th the time commitment.
