Troon is overrated and way overpriced. Stick to both We-ko-pa courses.

^ I agree with Mark about Troon being overrated. If you're spending that $, I'd look at Boulders, Greyhawk, TPC Champions, and Talking Stick.

Will be in town to catch a Cardinals game and hoping to get 18 in that morning.....what course would you recommend within 30-40 minutes of the stadium? I was originally thinking Aguila but have read some questionable reviews/comments of late.

There are no questionable reviews. Comments are reporting NORMAL conditions for this time of year which is the grow-in period for the annual overseed.

Wee ko pa Segueiro was okay.
Legends trail and boulders were well maintained..

Aguila has a wonderful layout with variety, some excitement, and also some good challenging holes. The view of south mountain is also cool.

Yeah...who ever you heard from that the layout was questionable needs to be shot. Other than the proximity of some holes next together, all the holes are very good. You can use just about every club and hit every shot(draw, fade, low, high, etc). Plus you can make it very tough(tips) to very enjoyable(up a tee).

Dec 9 you should have fair conditions for most places. GC Estrella and Aguila will have one more week of grow-in over Ravern Verrado (8 weeks vs 7 if you believe the published schedule).

I don't recall any bad reviews of the design at Aguila. For sure, it isn't a destination course, but for a muni, very solid and a super value. In my view, one of the better elements is that the course is contained within a core property and not routed through housing corridors.

Will be there May 8-13 and was going to Play both courses at We Ko Pa and play Karsten I was going to play at the Stadium Course but they are closed for renovations. Any Suggestions on a fourth round?

Coming down from the 5th of dec to the 13th. Have a few rounds lined up but if anyone else wants to get out let me know. I'm no golf snob. Love Aguila, Papago, Raven, Southern dunes. to name a few. Will play anywhere, other than high end Scottsdale courses unless I have an "in". Might have a spot for someone at Greyhawk for 70$ with a member on the Gateway tour. Usually those days are money games. Can't lose more than 100$. The rest of the time I usually play for nothing or loser buys a beer.

Always love to get out with fellow WRXers.

I have a wekopass and the discounted rate is good for me plus 3 so no problem for you to get a huge savings over the normal non res pricing. Would Sunday morning 9ish work?

Played TPC Champions today with jewofgolf and his dad. Great day and a great course. Best kept secret in Scottsdale. $49 walking rate. The golf now price with a cart today would have been $140.

On the second tee he said he wanted to play for bragging rights and the winner gets to post on golfwrx that he won.... I feel more like he lost today than I won! LOL! Neither of us played great but my 73 won by a couple...

If anyone is looking for a great course in North Scottsdale for a great rate, this is your place!!

I will be arriving from Minnesota to play all next week. Anyone wants to go out at some point? I am going just to play, so I have no time issues. I will be in the North Scottsdale area. Last year I played Saguaro, Pinnacle, TPCs and Grayhawk Talon. This year I would like to go Cholla at least, to complete the WeKoPa two.
