I agree on the Futura, and all it's variants. But I remember when Titleist replaced the very popular DCI Series of irons with some forged stainless irons. That didn't go over very well.

I actually like the Detour. The weight in the middle takes away the bias of other Cameron's which makes the toe roll over too easily and leads to bad putting IMHO. It's a good simple blade. And the arc attachment got me back on the right track of putting on an arc. It's not my primary putter, but I bring it out a few times a year as a reminder of the proper path.

I might be wrong on this one, but what about the Cleveland 588 Recovery Sole Chrome wedge... u know, the one with the big a** bottom sole. Everytime I go to any Golfsmith or Golf Galaxy, I see alot of these on sale, no one looking at them. Any thoughts?

HAHA! I was just about to post those as well as teh Puglielli wedges...although They probably perform great but I don't think either of those would be HOT sellers even if the made the HOT list lol (gold hot list, that is)

R9

Initial sales based on pure hype and marketing BS. i reckon there will be lots on ebay shortly once honeymoon period has finished.

I really wanted to like it, but disapointed with it like the original r7 quad. I'm waiting for the r9 460cc version. (i won't have to wait very long). R9 460cc is available in Japan. See link below.

Cameron Detour - I can't believe that thing got into so many tour bags (and my bag - d'oh!!!!).

It rolled the ball very well and (I thought) felt pretty good, but that 'curved tongue' .... why issue a club that confuses alignment like that?

On the one hand, you're trying to get the face square to your line; on the other, you have a curved piece of metal sticking out of the back that distorts your view/vision of the line.

Maybe Cameron should've issued two versions - the curved tongue for practicing, a square one for play.

I wonder - is the line on Cameron's new mallet square or curved?

Great point. I could never get used to that curved line sticking out of the back, it always confused me

I have owned several Scotty Cameron Putters of the traditional type. Great workmanship/craftsmanship, but IMO the only good/successfull putters he has made are basically someone else's design, be it Ping, T.P. Mills, Wilson (8802) or Zebra.

In my view, all his really unique designs like the Futura and the Detour and "twisties"are horrible things and I cant imagine they sold really well or will continue as classic designs.

I'd call them design flops.

Since the obvious have been stated, I'll throw in the TM Bubble Shaft. Yeah, it's not a "club" but the shaft does attach the "club"head! :D

I don't understand this one. The bubble was super hot for years! I hate that we need to find grips for them every so often though...

If I could find my old TM Raylor Bubble 16* I would jump on it. I hit off the tee about 270 and off the deck at will. The Bubble shaft and I got along great. Then the head flew off into the driving range and I foolishly left it out there. Oh well.

Founder's Club "Fresh Metal" Drivers. The only thing more silly than the name "Fresh Metal" was their commercial of a guy driving to a course in Porsche, jumping on a random tee in what could have been trespassing, hitting his "Fresh Metal" driver with the song "Ride Like the Wind" from Chris Cross playing in the background.

Other than the paint chipping off the face, I LOVED my 9.5 Burner bublle shaft. Was a 15th club, could murder that thing off the deck. Ah, the memories, that was a true innovation in club design.
