I think the reason your right arm is straight at impact is because at address you already reaching for the ball. The hands are not under the shoulders.

And the second reason is because your shoulders are closed at impact. For a bend right arm at impact you need to be more open with the upper body.

Not everyone has a very bent right elbow at impact and open shoulders. That doesn't mean they need to:

I know that. The OP was asking why he hasn't one.

I wouldn't say I'm consciously working on bent R arm anymore.

Trying to get shallower in transition and keep arms in front.

Thanks, man. I've been working hard on the game.

Played a really cool track outside of Kansas City, Sycamore Ridge. I'd never played it before. Front 9 is links style. Started out birdie-birdie-bogey-bogey and salvaged a 38 going out. Back 9 is carved through trees, creeks, and canyons. Again went birdie-birdie-bogey-bogey and salvaged a 38 coming in. It might be the last full round I get in with decent weather.

I really need to work on mental toughness or something. I get on the bogey train and I can't seem to get off. I will be hitting decent shots and just can't kick it.

Looks good! Is the slomo an iPhone 5s thing only or did it come with iOS7 and I just don't know how to work the camera?
It is one of the new features on the iPhone 5S. I was in the market for a slow-motion camera to use for getting video of my swing for online lessons. I saw this was one of the new features on the model and sat on my upgrade for a few months waiting to get it. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of slow-motion video.

QMany, swing is looking very compact and solid! A pair of 38s on a difficult course is nothing to sneeze at.

It looks to me like your hand rotation to square the clubface up comes pretty late in the downswing. Is that something you and lv have discussed? Your impact looks very solid, so not sure if that is a bug or a feature, just wondering.

I, too, like the video quality.

Fighting some fades.

Dan says I'm letting L arm get too outside and becoming disconnected on the BS.

Don't have much season left.

Hit up KILLEDBYASHANKEDWEDGE. He does great work and it is all custom. Really impressed. Wish it was just a hair narrower, fit snugly in my back pocket today. Maybe other pants it will be easier. Happy I got it though.

Nice passive brag on the 38 Q. We see what you are doing. :taunt:

J/K, With that action 38 is as bad as you are going to shoot. Two things, the iPhone is looking great, and the swing is looking even better. You have made some really nice changes. It isn't easy to rework your swing and it takes quite a bit of effort, and you have obviously put in some effort to get to where you are now. Congrats.

I wish that was the case! LOL. The weather will turn bad here soon, so I went out and played 36 on the same track yesterday. The first round was awesome, I was flighting the ball when u wanted and hitting some really good shots. Shot a nice cool 74 that could've been really low. Then I go back out and look like a retard humping a doorknob. Shot an 82 with a four-putt on the final hole. I guess 18 holes is my threshold for good golf right now. Hahah.

Thanks for the kind words. I've been working hard the last year and a half.

LV_2 - do you have a feel or thought for keeping your right heel planted to the ground so long in the downswing. I've worked some with Dan online and a big issue is over rotating the hips and driving my right knee out towards the ball... as a result my heel shoots strait up. Your heel stays down forever.... I like it.

Haha. Unfortunately it's not by choice. My heel stays down that long to help keep my path from getting too far to the right. I've been a 'back foot spinner' for a long long time dating back to my pre hardy days. With my issues: fast hips, right shoulder working down too much, right arm bent too long, if my right heel came up earlier, my path would be way out to right field.

As far as a way to keep your right knee from working too much toward the ball, try flaring your right foot away from the target. Hit some slow motion/half swings with your right foot flared out say 30-45 degrees. Will help you get your hips deeper in backswing, keep knee from working out toward ball, and it will almost force your right heel down. Something to tinker with. Will feel weird at first so start slow.

Lots of Callaway Stuff
