I'm surprised there's no 56 K grind. Also no more 64*. I might have to rearrange my wedges to a 52F, 58K bent to a 57, and a 62T.

I was surprised as well about no 64*. They already have one so why not keep it in the line up?

I have read conflicting release dates. My pro said November and this thread says Feb I believe unless I missed something. Any news on the release dates? I just ordered a TVD K 58 and thought about a SM5 54.

I hope it's November but I'm pretty sure they're going to be released 3/14/13, that's what the booking sheet said that was in this forum before it was removed.

I think most people like the K grind in a lob wedge, wider sole with somewhat lower bounce. Usually a majority of folks want bounce and a more full sole on a sand wedge.

I agree, but the K grind is so good out of bunkers and people obviously use their sand wedges a lot for bunker shots which this wedge excels at.

does anyone know if they grooves with be different than SM4? I liked the Sm4 but wished they had a bit more bite! The MD2 spin as much as my non CC vokeys (SM2 I think, red saw) So im sure they new groove technology is close...

any insight?

Will the SM5 retain the same head shape/profile as the SM4 or perhaps hint back to the 200 series?

My head hurts from reading this. I usually pick the ball pretty clean, maybe a small divot. Currently play SS grind in Scratch wedges. I was thinking about the TVD or T grind in 54 and 60. I use the 60 for greenside bunkers currently and everything around the green. Would those be the right options?

With JP grinding for Vokey as well now? I'm sure there will be some pretty awesome wedges in near future aside from the SM5 line, which are tastefully done for sure. Anxious to see how it all pans out with their special release/limited grinds.

That makes a good point, as KBS uses same shaft for 9iron, PW, GW, SW and so on, just cut to length. Just considering how common s300's are, and DG usually the standard, makes me wonder the same thing....

From what I've heard JP will be heading up the Japan line of Vokeys. So, it is unlikely we will see his work in the states for a while. Maybe by the SM6.

On another note, someone break the rules and post some pictures hahahaha. I really want to see these new finishes.

I bought a sm4 52* 2 weeks ago. But I'm going to wait on the sm5 58K for the spring just in case there is a little more spin built in on them. The gold nickel color looks awesome.

KBS makes a wedge specific shaft that is the same weight and a half inch shorter raw length than the standard KBS. Std KBS 9 and p are 37.5" and the KBS wedge is 37".

S200 is lighter and you feel the head more since more weight is in the head as a result to keep the swingweight constant.

It's a plating and will scratch up but not wear off , similar to black nickel or tour chrome.

My Black Nickel ones have worn (not worn off) and the colour has become more silver, not complaining I like the "well used" look on wedges
