for those of you testing these, don't count out the stock KBS shafts
they just plain work in these heads
I have a few sessions on mine (6-7 LG buckets-indoors tho off mats) and they keep getting better and better
I just went w standard length, 1* up and 1* weak on the CB (5,6 CB & 7-P MC)
i may consider getting the matching 4i CB as well

feel is so subjective, but man do these feel incredible
and flight seems to be good
cant wait to test turf interaction and spin into a nice head wind

honeymoon stage is looking good tho ;)

Got my combo set today. 4-5 CB, 6-PW MC. They are getting KBS Tour V shafts and custom ferrules installed right now and then I'll add my paint fill to complete them. Il post some pics when they are done.

What made you combo these irons? mc long irons don't give enough help?

The CB's definitely gave me more forgivness which I wanted with the 4 & 5 iron. Now if the snow would just melt around here...

Those are SWEET with the paintfill! I haven't even gotten my order yet and I am thinking of what I want to do with the paintfill. I was thinking similar to yours but with more of the SLDR color blue. Looks good though buddy

Hey,,, nice job!!!!! Let me ask,,, how did you paint the raised letters in the cavity back???? Thx
For the 4-7, I used a small piece of felt and just dabbed it on the raised portion only. Took a little patience, but it worked well.

I tried mine out today (in a simulator) for the first time and despite the shafts (stock KBS regular) are too heavy for me, I got nearly the same distances compared to my RBZ with graphites. Well - about 5 yards less - though with more effort. Then again, I haven't touched a club for 3 months, but I'm looking forward to installing 85 gram Steelfibers in them before the season starts here. Btw - I have the 5-7 in CB and 8-PW in MC. My distances for the 9, 7 and 5 irons were: 132 yards, 152 yds & 175 yds.

But here comes the interesting thing… this friend of mine (not close friends - members of the same club. I've seen him play, he has seen me play and we talk when we meet) he was trying my clubs before I hit them and he was hitting the 5 iron 240 yards and dead straight every time! He thought it was something wrong with the simulator figures… Unfortunately he left before I started but I can now tell him that most likely the simulator was accurate. (and he can scrap his almost brand new Callaway prototypes) :golfer: .
Of course, he is a very accomplished player with a professional career behind him - probably +2 HCP or better. He was -8 over 36 holes at our Club Championships last year, beating one European Tour player with several shots. So, it will be interesting to hear what he says.
So far I'm very happy with my new irons but I hate it's 2-3 months before the season starts here...

I got a chance to hit the MB and MC's at GolfTown today. I've been thinking of going to an MB/CB combo set later in the year and tried out both the Titleist clubs and Taylormade clubs. I'm not a Taylormade guy, but the MB's and MC's BLEW ME AWAY.

They just had their stock KBS Stiff shafts in them, but both irons felt solid. I hit a 6 iron in both the MB and MC and the feel off the face was phenomenal. Hit about 25 shots with each, 50 shots in total. Mishits on the MB's were obviously worse than the MC's but the MB's just felt forgiving for some reason. I was averaging anywhere from about 85-89MPH with the 6 iron and a total distance of about 175-180 yards.

I've been pretty set on doing Titleist MB's in PW-7 and 6-4 iron in the CB's, but I might just go the Taylormade route.

Posted this in the #insideTMAG trip thread figured I would post it here as well!

Order came in for the new Tour Preferred irons today! I have been looking forward to getting them and they arrived just in time to throw in the bag for my 12 o'clock tee time! I ordered this setup after hitting each model a bunch at The Kingdom. Here is my initial review after just 18 holes.

Taylormade Tour Preferred CB 3-6 MB 7-PW

- Tour Issue DG S400 hard-stepped 1x, +.25", standard loft and lie

- Midsize GP VDR Grips (put on myself, I taper the wraps under my right hand, feels good)

Looks: These irons look great. The MBs are simply gorgeous. I love the look of these both from address and in general. They are classic but still have a sharp look that I like, especially with the satin finish. The CBs are also very nice looking, but there are a couple things I would change. I am not a huge fan of the cutout sort of indent on the bottom of the hosel, looks funny and I am not a fan but that is just me knit-picking. Also I would have really liked if they had went with silver in the cavity instead of black, but I don't mind the black at all. One thing I was worried about would be how the two models blended together looks wise at address and after seeing and playing with them I am very satisfied. The CBs have a great profile that I don't mind at all in the long irons, they remind me of AP2s. The MBs are great looking as well and I am very pleased with how well they flow together.

Performance: I was so excited to get these out onto the course today. Obviously I would have liked some range time beforehand, but FedEx stopped by at 1130 and my tee time was for 12 so off to the course I went. (Sorry to my cold Northern fellow WRXers) *PASSIVE BRAG ALERT* I was hitting my driver great today so I actually didn't get to hit the irons a ton because I was inside wedge territory a lot on the approach, thank you SLDR. I got to hit a good sampling of irons throughout the round though and I am very happy with them. The CBs are cannons. They are very powerful feeling and I really liked how easy they were to hit. The MBs are just awesome. I fell in love with them at The Kingdom and couldn't wait to hit them out on the course. I love the pure feeling and the way they cut through the turf. I was hitting the ball well today and I didn't experience any real off-center hits to see how much different the ball flies on off-center strikes (thankfully). One thing I was worried about, and I know others are as well, was how the distance gaps would fall with these irons in combo sets. My change is from the 6 to the 7 and will have to hit the practice range to see how much the gap is between the two. I was hitting my yardages pretty closely compared to the MP-64s I was using before so it wasn't too much of a guess when pulling a club. The MBs AND CBs both felt just as good as the forged Mizuno (Oh my god, no he didn't?!) Yes, I am serious when saying that if you hadn't told me the CBs weren't forged I never would have known the difference. IMO anyone who says they can feel a real difference is above us mere Earthlings. I am thoroughly impressed with the irons after 18 holes and look forward to some more time with them soon.

Here are a couple more pictures of address side by side of my 6 and 7 irons (CB/MB) and my 3 iron (CB). Not much of a difference if you ask me. Also threw in a picture for those that seem to think they are assembled outside the US of A. Thanks for reading, look forward to updating this thread soon!

For the guys that purchased a CB/MC combo, did you adjust any lofts? I am thinking of the 4-5 CB and weakening 2deg to keep the loft gap the same as the MCs. I also like them with the KBS 90s.
I got the 4-7CB and 8-PW MC with DG S300 shafts, all bent 1* strong. The gap for me between 7 and 8 is about 10-12 yards. Got fit at the TM Performance Lab in Olympia Fields, and this was the setup that was recommended for me.

I didn't worry about it. I struggle with long irons as it is so having the 4,5,6 in the CB and the slight loft change isn't something likely to cause me trouble.

I went 4 & 5 in CB and 6-PW in MC and just left the lofts alone for now. If at some point they need a slight tweak they can always get the Tour Preferred treatment. I hit several shots at the Performance Lab with both the 5CB and 6MC to see about gapping and my numbers were very consistent. We'll see this weekend when I get them out on the course. Really excited to give them a whirl!

Wow! That does look great. Thanks for posting a picture of it. Looks a lot better to me than the ATVs. I guess I'll add it to my CB/MC combo, instead of getting a 50* ATV.

I plan on getting 8-PW MC all 1* strong. That's what was recommended by TM.

Picked up my MC(4-7), and MB (8-PW) today. Mother nature dumped 3 more inches of snow over the last 24 hours. Such a tease! This is my 3rd set of irons since last summer. I started with the RocketBladez Tour with KBS C-Taper shafts. Felt too heavy and stiff for me, so instead of switching out the shafts, I picked up the SpeedBlade irons. Prior to that, I had been playing the Rac TP Combo for many years. As soon as I saw the TP irons coming back, I knew I had to have them. They look so classy and sexy! Hit them really well in the simulator. Can't wait to hit them on the courses this year.

Just got my beauties this morning!! Surprisingly the long irons aren't that hard to hit, I thought they would be a bit harsh, but so far these are the best irons from TMAG that I've owned.

Beautiful setup man.

There were RAC TP Forged Irons. I had a set and loved them. I sold them to my friend years ago and he's still gaming them.

Question about the new MB's:

Are they still long from heel to toe? Most other TM irons were longer from heel to toe from other irons. The new Cobra Amp Cell Pros are way too compact. Don't like that.

Any word yet, when or if, KBS tour v or c taper lites will be available?

I'm looking into getting the CBs and I would like to go with either shaft and I don't want to submit my order and then find out that they are available.
