2014 Taylormade TP CB, MC & MB Pics (American release photos and spec sheets)

I don't trust TM irons. These look great but I can't bring myself to even demo a TM iron. The Apex and Apex Pro are going to be the best irons released in 2014. It will take something special
to out do what Callaway has done. TM makes the best Drivers, fwys and I even love the wedges by TM but I can't get passed thinking the irons are junk. They just do nit have the feeling a good forged iron should have. I know they are not junk because a good portion of the worlds best players play TM irons. Maybe it's no confidence in them. Anyone on here that wouldn't play anything but
TM irons? And why? I did have a good set of
B stamp TP irons that were made for Retief but we all know what the Tour guys are playing only looks like what we can buy retail, much better stuff goes to the Tour staff. Retiefs irons I bought were not the same as the retail model that was out then. I hit my B stamps and a retail set together and the B stamps were smaller and felt much nicer and all the heads were very very close to the same weight. Someone hand picked the B heads for retief and we can't do that. The retail set was garbage compared to the B stamps.
Why not manufacture the best product you can for everyone.

Interesting. We had countless "these need the badge or I'm not buying/ major fail, etc.". There was not a single "if they put on badge I'm not buying". Nice job TM, way to know your consumer. I don't have a single TM product in my bag and haven't in years. I can honestly say the MC with the badge would have had a chance if they performed close to how they looked. Guess that lets me save my money for something else.

Seems like a money grab. TMaG quite frankly just has scale that is too large, they can't dedicate the time for quality since they own approx. 24% of the iron market.

We all agree the aesthetics are garbage, but what is almost more shocking is that with all the force behind the marketing machine that is TMaG the paint fill and "Tour Preferred" logo look like crap. If you're scrapping the "TP" logo why not come up with something better? History has proven TMaG isn't afraid to come up with new logos.

I frankly don't get the wining about the stupid TP Badge. I think it's kind off cool but would this have any bearing on wether or not I bought a set of irons? No way in hell. It's cosmetic! The way the club performs is what counts and how it looks at address. The stupid TP badge in the cavity does absolutely nothing!

Club wise they look very nice. Hate the tour preferred lettering. Logo, I could go either way. If I were to get these the red in the tour preferred would be gone and reprinted black or leave no paint fill. Logo ones aesthetically look better.

Clean lines also which I like. Wonder how the slot would be in the MC and CB. I don't play MB's. Slot would have to feel great and not affect my feel like it did in the tours.

I like the Tour Preffered text. People will complain either way. If they are better than my Rocketbladez Tours I will definately get them. Either way no one can seriously believe that 20 people posting in this thread in any way represent the "majority" of the golf market.

Amen! Cosmetics has nothing to do with quality and performance period. I love the technology with the speed pocket and I cant wait to get me a set. Only issue I will have will be do I get the CB or MC

the point is again they are telling us what we "like" - when we have clearly told them what we want...

to think how much money they spend in focus groups and researching aesthetics etc - when for a couple of years we continually tell them to keep it simple and bring back the TP badge. THE HARDER PART IS GETTING THE SHAPE PERFECT - and they did...

Velocity slot on a forged iron? Mist be endo forged then since very few foundries have the forging technology to make it work. Will be interested to see how they were made.

So, from that e-mail message, I don't see anywhere that they are including the "Tour Preferred" writing. They DID say they were ditching the TP emblem, so that won't be on there. But when easyyy said he thinks there were changes since the picture with the tour preferred writing, and we just got confirmation there's no TP badge, I'm thinking maybe they just left it all off? Gave it a completely clean look. I'd honestly quite like that. They would have to have a HORRID design department to have a final version placing text there. They know 99% of the people that are actually purchasing this model would hate it, and TM isn't stupid. Just a hunch, but I'd have to imagine with tour input, input on here, knowledge of the buyer base, and all other input involved that they would have strayed away from excess text towards a cleaner look.

OR....maybe TM just wants to make a killing by slowly leaking "Tour Issued" clubs with the badge and selling them for 5x normal price and pocketing the extra money.

Can you point to a single post where people are implying the performance would be affected? I know you are trying (and failing miserably) to be facetious about how much the badge people care, but, just remember something: A lot of us on here try almost everything from every OEM and pick the best stuff. Guess what you get to do if you do that: Nitpick. I only buy things that look, feel, and perform perfectly, and only then if I get a good deal to boot. The thing is, with where golf technology is, there is just no way that TMAG (or any OEM for that matter) will release something that blows everything else out of the water. In other words, I can probably get similar performance from elsewhere. Therefore, I can afford to be incredibly picky about what I like and why I like it. If I (or anyone on here), think the badge is a great idea and they should have put it on there, and they don't, it might affect my buying choice. If it affects my buying choice, I think it's totally fair game to discuss here.

Now, I know some of you either exclusively or almost exclusively play one OEM. If this is the case, you CANNOT afford to be as picky, and generally are stuck with what you get. If this describes you, then I understand why you don't understand people getting worked up about the (lack of) badge. But remember, NOT EVERYONE IS LIKE THIS.

Irons look really good. Mine will be to me soon. Can't say exactly given release info not given yet. May have been in first couple pages,but I didn't see anything. I don't get the whole stink over the tp badge or in writing. Can't see either one while playing them. Yeah sitting in bag may look nice,but I don't stare at my clubs in the bag. They are actually used. Maybe just me though.
