There will be no flag on the final version of clubs, instead it has Tour Preferred, unless something changes otherwise.
Thanks for photos Caesar - I think my 8 year old Titleist 735s might be upgraded in new year - based on these pics the MCs have the early lead!!!

I think the MB and MC look great. Though I think we all would have preferred the TP badge on them it looks like "Tour Preferred" is is only paintfill and could be removed or changed to make the irons look even better.

The CB and MC look very similar to each other to me. I assume the CB is a slightly bigger version of the MC in terms of blade length, top line, etc.?

Whomever made the final decision of the extra writing over the badge or no writing should be fired. There really is no other way to put it. Just a dreadful decision....

This decision is on the same level as Kupcheck calling Phil Jackson at 12AM to tell him that they hired D'Antoni.

If that is true, this is waaayyyy worse than I first thought......LOL

I know we are 13 pages in but I have a question for everyone. What if the reason they left the badge off was a quality issue? If the badges were falling off in the past and Taylormade gets slammed by the haters for NOT making a quality product. What if Taylormade tried to go the best quality route they could to please the "Players" community? In that case, I'm sure everyone would say take the "Tour Preferred" off the back so it's a simple clean look and put "Tour Preferred" on the hosel. I think you can insert a handful of reasons why the badge may have been scrapped at the last minute. These clubs look awesome and if I was made of money, I'd definitely would be ordering a custom combo set for sure. Of course I wanted the badge too but I have to think there was a really good reason to leave it off.

My thoughts....

#1 - Should be a great release. The original tour preferred MB, MC, CB line was very good. I haven't tried the slot technology in irons, but have a lot of friends that have enjoyed it.

#2 - Prefer a clean look and the TP logo gives that. If it's a QC issue or something else, then the Tour Preferred should be have been placed on the hosel like the originals (or left off). If that was done, no one would be complaining about the design in my opinion.

The PING S55's are soooo clean looking. Has been little said negative about the PINGs and TaylorMade would be in the same boat if the Tour Preferred was simply left off these irons.

LESS IS MORE.

Give it to us like this and you'll have a VERY popular iron. All business.

I personally think it looks very promising and much better than that Rocketbladez crap that was pitched as a players club all of last year.

Similar lines. Same technology. Rocketbladez actually have less branding.

I dunno Q. Still need to see the new ones from address. I was referring to the line of Rocketbladez and the line of the Tour Preferred, the entire line of Tour Preferred clubs we have seen are definitely more "player" focused.

That's not really an apples to apples comparison, is it? To my knowledge, the regular Rocketbladez were never branded as "player focused" or a "player's club." I want to compare the Rocketbladez Tour with the Tour Preferred before I call one crap.

Has any TP Badge ever been milled on any Taylormade club? I don't think so. That is a pretty complex design to have it milled on every club that is mass produced.

They've done some skim milling but nothing has been actually milled since the 05 TP's faces by Miura, no badge and no tour preferred would be great.

These are going to make a sexy combo set
CP you might be on to a good thing there. MC in the long irons and MB in the 7-W or 8-W. What will / may be a deciding factor is what the new wedges look like and their lofts. Any clues on lofts yet - will these be strong?
I hope the lofts are in line with the previous tour preferred model. 47* pw and all.

I know TM would get flamed if there are quality issues with the new badges. But these have worked in the past. Was these paint fill or stickers?

This is amazing! People dismissing these clubs because of a badge! Seems people care more about how clubs look than performance!

Better to look like somebody that can crush it 330 and shoot 67 than actually doing it I guess!
I think it's just a let down to people as it's been voiced very loud and clear before these irons came out that people wanted the badge back, and TMAG went a different direction....kinda like Chevy not putting round tail lights on the new Vette. Consumers voiced what they wanted in looks, they weren't hearing it. Doesn't mean it doesn't perform, and I'm sure few have doubt in these irons performing.
Good analogy....I dont think its TMAG being jerks about it....It has to do with the Corvette logo....period.
Badge to make 1100 people happy vs. 2.6 mill in litigation....
Trust me, I wanted the badge....So much I was willing to tattoo it on me...
But its not going to happen
If this is what it's about, then how do you explain the TP crest on the shafts???

i'm in the minority, but I personally think the crest looks a bit old school and dated, and i dont think it's a big deal at all they left it off the new irons. they need to move on to the next big thing for marketing purposes and having the old logo would signify more of the same old.

Yeh, I don't think it is PRIMARILY about the trademark issue anymore. But, if Corvette told them not to put the logo on the head, that's the end of it. TMAG can either abide by that or not. But, TMAG just pointing out that the logo is already on the shafts isn't going to change what Corvette does. Corvette doesn't care if they are being consistent in their enforcement, and they don't have to be. I really think the trademark issue was one of a myriad of factors that led them not to put the badge on, but alone I doubt it would have led them to take the badge off.

I never said one thing about crest, or trademark....I was simply stating people wanted tp badge, and couldn't get it, just like people wanting round tailights on the new corvette and couldn't get them....was just trying to explain OEMS don't always listen to customer or fan base. I've never once spoke of trademark infringements.

I know it's been said multiple times and people have confirmed with their sources, and I do appreciate the leaked pictures. But I'll only believe about 75% of what I see and hear with Taylormade before the actual product launch. Things change with TMaG and if an insider such as easyyy says hold up, things may change, it just gives me enough hope that the badge may appear on the club. Anyone have any actual dates?

I take it we have nothing in terms of info but these pics on the new line cos noone seems interested in specs, shaft options etc..?

No info on the specs...I am sure there will a huge debate about that when we get wind of them. For NOW this (the badge vs no badge vs lettering) is all we have to b.tch about!!

Maybe its just me, but does the "tour preferred" v. TP logo bother anyone else? My feelings has nothing to do with wanting a TP logo, per se. It just looks so much better than the "tour preferred" version in my opinion. Others may disagree.
I agree. Too much text on a tool. They treat them like billboards. If you added some yellow paint how are these different than the previous model?
...given we have nothing else to discuss besides visuals.

I actually did not get to test them, but a friend posted it. Im definetly gonna try a combo set, maybe 3-6 MC and 7-P MB

I generally like a more simple/clean looking club - With these clubs, I could see people getting rid of the paintfill and going with a "no fill" approach - Clubs shouldn't look like Nascar drivers, IMO - In fact, if anything that's the reason Cleveland should have sue Callaway - not for using Roger Cleveland's name, but for how atrocious and cluttered it make the clubs look!

I played a set of tour preferred blades in the early 90's. Looked very similar to the current mb's picture

My set was the version that had the hollow wider bottoms in the 1-4 irons. I still have the 1 iron .. anyone remember those

If I hadn't just got s55's I'd consider the MB's as they remind me of when I was a half decent stick
