Just looked back at the pics. For me, the "tour preferred" in those colors is just hideous. Badge or not, they HAVE to be able to do better than the current "tour preferred" text. It just makes it look cheap. Seems like the badge is out, but that doesn't mean they still can't do something else besides that text. Its quite a shame because the club really does look awesome otherwise. Also, a disclaimer: I am not in anyway implying this hurts the performance or even that you should care about the looks. But some of us do care about the looks, and the current "tour preferred" text is a mess.

Lots of us care about looks. Not much changes anymore in clubs. Looks play a part in clubs we choose. Or maybe it's just me. I have given up on distance increases (spoiler alert) there really isn't going to be without jacking lofts and making me carry more wedges because some PW come in at 44' loft now.

Just sell a blank club and let people buy the badge we can epoxy on ourselves if we want. I'm sure some plastic piece/parts place will be happy to sell all of us little plastic or metal TP logo's for a price.

Your spot on. TM should just leave the entire back of the club blank besides the TaylorMade text. If they are going to leave off the badge then don't put anything there at all.

Oh many I want to Patten this now..... Golf Clubs Like Cellphones. Cell accessories that you can put on to customize it.... YIKES!!!!!

Its going to be interesting on what is going to be marketed as stated above. Im over the distance thing. I am pretty much dialed in and dont need to futt around with anymore distance, I do want forgiveness and consistency over 33 more yards.... long and wrong is not my game any more LOL!

I'm liking the Adams xtd forged a little more after seeing these, the tour preferred writing cheapens a good looking design.

yeah seriously, I agree if they leave off the badge then they entirely dropped the ball here. the writing looks cheap and stands out on the back of the club like a sore thumb.

blank I could deal with, but #KEEPTHEBADGE... I already have an iron set that works for my game. if I'm going to spend a lot of money to get a new set, it should look how most of us want it to look, with the badge. just my $0.02

Really sucks there won't be a badge....protos will go for top dollar, and tour issue will have "tour preferred" as well....so I can see a few sets of proto going for crazy money on the bay soon enough....

But either way, they look great.....and at least there is finally a forged players offering again

This is amazing! People dismissing these clubs because of a badge! Seems people care more about how clubs look than performance!

Better to look like somebody that can crush it 330 and shoot 67 than actually doing it I guess!

Does anyone care what type of steel that they are forged from? Or maybe how the sole grind interacts with the turf? Lofts and bounce angles?

Or do we really only care about a badge?

Just askin...

So, from that e-mail message, I don't see anywhere that they are including the "Tour Preferred" writing. They DID say they were ditching the TP emblem, so that won't be on there. But when easyyy said he thinks there were changes since the picture with the tour preferred writing, and we just got confirmation there's no TP badge, I'm thinking maybe they just left it all off? Gave it a completely clean look. I'd honestly quite like that. They would have to have a HORRID design department to have a final version placing text there. They know 99% of the people that are actually purchasing this model would hate it, and TM isn't stupid. Just a hunch, but I'd have to imagine with tour input, input on here, knowledge of the buyer base, and all other input involved that they would have strayed away from excess text towards a cleaner look.

OR....maybe TM just wants to make a killing by slowly leaking "Tour Issued" clubs with the badge and selling them for 5x normal price and pocketing the extra money.
I just want to point out here: How can you market them as Tour Preferred irons if "Tour Preferred" is not mentioned anywhere on the head?
Should ditch everything other than "TaylorMade" if no badge, and put "tour preferred" on hosel again if it's a must......

I would be curious WHY they left the badge off... These were never an option for me as I'm gonna take a very generous fella up on an offer to build some clubs for me and that is that..

But why....

Anyone with insight?

There will be no flag on the final version of clubs, instead it has Tour Preferred, unless something changes otherwise.

The logo seemed a lot cleaner than the wording to me. It just had the right amount of something with that TP logo. I do love the look of all three. These may give the AP2's a run for the money.

For those who keep bringing up "performance": please, if you have hit these clubs, or have info from those who have, please discuss. If not, then expect there to be a LOT of discussion regarding the looks, because all we have is pics. How can we discuss anything else?

Supposedly there is a manufacturing reason on why they are leaving the badge off. I don't have anymore details but that is what my contact is telling me.

Whomever made the final decision of the extra writing over the badge or no writing should be fired. There really is no other way to put it. Just a dreadful decision....

This decision is on the same level as Kupcheck calling Phil Jackson at 12AM to tell him that they hired D'Antoni.

Well my 05 TP badges did fall off over time. That is probably a reason. I have seen TP MB badges missing as well.
