Spieth's celebration: Just what the tour needed!

What a great finish to The Traveler's today. Jordan's bunker shot was obviously outstanding but it made me more happy, as a golf fan, to see him and Michael celebrate like they did. I feel like the game has lacked raw emotion with the exception of the Ryder Cup as of late.

A big part of Tiger's appeal was how fired up he would get when he would make a big shot and the game needs someone like that again. I'm tired of guys acting like it's not a big deal that they just won a tournament. It is! Your paycheck says that it is. I hope this continues...

Well he almost took off Greller's kneecap when he flung his wedge at him -- that was pretty funny.

Daniel Berger also got pumped with his birdie at #17.

Since it was a slow sports news day, Sportscenter has had a lot of coverage on it tonight.

No boring TOUR robot presence. His emotion was running high, so performs an end zone dance in front of the large 18th green gallery.

That was an awesome celebration. I'm anxious for the time with Spieth goes on another run and we see more of that emotion. Its exciting and good entertainment.

Tons of young talent on tour that is exciting to watch. Looking forward to seeing their careers develop, rivalries build etc.

I like that Greller launched the bunker rake right off the bat, i think that set the tone for the rest... and yes, that's about as good of a non-tiger celebration as you're gonna get out of golf

Shackelford pretty much dislikes anything related to people who can play at a high level. Has a golf talent envy issue

It is a NOLE state currently, but football is better when UF and UM are good. I want to keep beating them yearly, but like to see both on the upswing, just don't get too good....

My dad is a casual golf fan and he texted me when he saw the celebration and the only thing he said was 'WOW, what an awesome reaction. Jordan is awesome'. So yes, I would agree, this is a positive step for the Tour. I do think Jordan brings more of a 'cool' factor to the tour than some of the other guys on Tour (McIlroy, DJ, Day to an extent). And he seems to resonate with casual fans more. But I'm not sure he is ever going to have the draw that an Arnie, Jack, or Tiger get. Those are rare generational athletes whom transcend the game. Jordan may wind up being an all-time elite tour player, but, not sure he (or anyone currently on tour except maybe Fowler) has the capability to transcend the game.

Pro sports need dominate figures, generally with big personalities, to attract casual fans. Golf doesn't have that right now.
