KBS TD Tour driver shaft

Thanks, I wish this had stayed in the equipment section. More would see it there. I think this shaft may interest a lot of people. it is unique though.

I'm really surprised how little feed back there is on these so far. I'm really looking forward to trying one in my driver.

I am really enjoying it so far.

I am also considering one from Will, I now play a GD AD BB 7X more because it is a spin killer than for SS which I don't have much of but the BB 7X works great for me.

Do you have any thoughts of the KBS TD 7TX compared to the BB 7X?

Just for reference I am now trying a GD AD XC 6S I got from Will and it is far too loose for me, longer but have to go looking for the ball too much. Thanks

I am leaning to a 60TX in this shaft, not because of SS but it seems to fit the profile I like with a high kick point, stiff tip and 3.0 Torque.

Could someone explain to me the main difference in a X and TX flex besides the things in the specs please, I have just not tried a TX shaft before and wonder if it will play stiffer than the X or is the slight torque and kick point the main difference so a different feel?

I think it is just over all a bit stiffer and lower torque.

i've been eyeing one for my F9.

It’s a great shaft. Just be sure to keep an eye on your swing weight. This shaft will increase it.

The tip heavy angle to this shaft is definitely intriguing - seems to go against a general trend of counter-balancing or at least higher balance point shafts, but the reviews that I have read would indicate this will be a popular choice. I’m keen to try this out as and when we are allowed “out to play”!!

I like this shaft, but I wish I had gotten fit for it by KBS. Having learned some about this shaft it is pretty specific as to the tip trimming and that is how you get it to perform. I have since gone back the pro X green 60TX.

I just swung one at a pga superstore in my driver head and I ordered one immediately. Feels exactly how I want my driver shaft to flex and load. Category 4 60g fit me well

I just lucked upon a Mavrik kbs TD 70 cat 5 combo.  Wow.  I’m not a naturally high ball hitter. And this thing is like some sort of Goldilocks combo. Launches up like the ventus red.  But explodes off the face.  Extremely excited about the ballspeed and height I just found.  For what it’s worth.  Mine is with zero tip trim.

Thats awesome. I ended up trimming my 70 and putting it in my OG one mini. It has been great. Makes me want to try it again in driver. I think I would go 60TX and maybe trim it 1 inch..

mind you I haven’t got it on course yet. ( will Saturday ). But Its exploding off the face for me.  I’d bet it has to do with its weighting. I prefer to feel the weight on the head vs counter balanced.  One of those combos where you say “ dang !” On the first ball.

Ahh crap... Thats all I need. To start thinking about another driver shaft.. hahaha.

Funny thing is.  I went in to test and wanted to hit the ventus red in a tsi3.  But they didn’t have one for titleist in the fitting collection.   He ordered one for me to test Friday.   Will have to be damn good to beat this.   But I’m like you.  I wonder about the kbs shaft in the titleist head. Lol. 

Just saw the TXG video on these. If my pro orange doesn't work out, I think this is the next one to test out.

Just found this website.  Looks like the TDs are crazy stout like Accra flex.  Just bought one from Calloway pre owned.

So why exactly did you guys move onto other shafts?  I haven't tested the TD but it has my attention.  Currently playing a Ventus Black.  Great shaft overall but yall know I'm a tinkerer with driver.  I also have a back up OG SIM 9* that is awful lonely without a shaft, HAHA. 

I’m still swinging the category 4 60g in my driver and just ordered a category 4 70g for my 3 wood.  
 

I swung a Velocore blue in my driver and the TD was still the better choice for me on the monitor.

Because I am a fool and like to try shafts.. I still have it. I stupidly cut it down to 3 wood length. Now I was I hadn’t and wish I had another one.. if I was to do it over I would get a 60 cat 5 tipped 1.5 inches.

To use my wife’s word.  “ worms”.  I have worms.  😂.   
 

I tell you.  The mavrik TD cat5 combo I had is the one combo I wish I’d kept.  Or maybe more accurately, wish I had stabbed that shaft into a newer epic head.   The one issue I had with the mavrik was a left miss.  But it was the head.  I had same miss with 3 shafts with that head. But didn’t have that miss with the titleist.  But that shaft was the launch and carry king.  The TB I’m playing was neck and neck. But I truly think the TD was lower spin and felt best.
