G fore shoes

Recommended Posts

I would have bought 4 or 5 pair at full price if they were offered in wide size. That being said I'm holding back on the Gallivanters that are offered in wide as I already have two pair of white and black shoes of different makes so I will only buy the GFore shoes for the right price. They appear to be really good shoes though and I can understand why they sell so well.

i have a pair, i like the fit, but hate the bottom. they pick up everything you step on. Their cleat design is way too aggressive. It is very difficult to get debris off the bottoms

Ditto. I refuse to wear them if there are leaves around. Not only do you look stupid with leaves hanging out the side of your shoes, they are very slick.

I love the comfort and overall traction when it is dry but the leave a lot to be desired in other conditions.

i love them!!! The stability paired with light weight is what does it for me. The comments about them picking up debris are true but not a deal breaker. if it's wet in the fall with leaves everywhere i would probably wear something different but thats probably the only time. i hate non-spiked shoes because i slip a lot and i've never slipped in these. they also have a ribbed/waved insole that feels really good to walk on. i would also say these require a small amount of break in so wear padded socks the first few times.

Man those look good!! Thats the way go...I guess I would just wear them until the sole wears out and then depending on the condition of the upper have a new sole put on them. You are right that setup appears to be the best of both worlds! You guys are correct that every time I see someone reviewing the shoes online and they show the sole it is caked with debris !! I wear the TW shoes from last year and they are the complete opposite in that they pick up nothing yet are still the most stable shoe I've ever worn. May I ask how much that work cost?

Love my G/Fore shoes! Picked these up last year and I should have ordered a couple more pairs before they discontinued them. Extremely comfortable and really no sliding around as you might imagine with a slip on style shoe. I would second the comment about cleats being aggressive and tough to clean. Especially difficult to clean in the fall or when you find yourself off in the woods... On the tee though you feel really locked in to the ground. Picture below right after coming off the course.

My Gallivanters started letting in water after less than a year of use. Left shoe was really bad, right was ok. Felt like it was coming through the bottom. While I love these shoes, I don't know if I can have a shoe that cannot keep water out for more than a year. My Adidas Tour 360 BOAs have been fine for the last 4 years.

I have a pair of Gallivanters and love them. Most comfortable golf shoe, and maybe even most comfortable shoe in general, I've ever worn.

I have 3 pair of Gallivanters; I think they are the most comfortable golf shoes I own. Every time I wear a pair of them I'm amazed at how light they feel on my feet, as they look like a heavier, traditional golf shoe such as the FJ Classic Dry Premiers (I still love them too!). They are lighter in weight than Icons and and Tour Boost 360's. I have had zero issues with water, and though the spikes are aggressive, I don't have a problem knocking them together a few times and maybe picking a few leaves out with a tee during a round.

I love the g/fore shoes. I have too many pairs to mention. Its excessive. I have the same complaint about the sole picking up everything but I noticed on the latest pair I got that they have changed it slightly. They removed some of the smaller spikes so there is more room space between spikes for debris to clear. Works better and still grips fine.

I've had about 4 pairs. All 4 needed to be replaced for water in less than a year. I used Reshoevn8r and Kiwi to try to avoid. No help. The pairs purchased through my club were no problem to replace but dealing direct they would not replace. They only have a 6 month waterproof guarantee. Water comes straight through the bottom and was building up mold under the insole. They are awesome shoes but not being able to wear with morning dew makes them useless half the time.

My club has really latched on to these, and seems like everyone is wearing them.   I see alot of guys with pairs that are well over a year old and they keep wearing them with no complaints.  I just got my first pair, and can comment I was immediately impressed.  Went half size up, and wouldn't even consider going my normal size.  They are super light and feel premium.  I am coming from Pro SL, so these feel way more stable but no heavier.  Hoping the few people with wet out issues is just rub of the green, seems like any shoes will have those complaints if you read long enough?  I noticed my feet got wet in the Pro SL a little, but I think when its that wet it comes in through the tongue.
