Played really well. 6,950 yards. 73.0/135. Had only played two rounds there prior, and really didn't remember the course.

 

My only bad shot all day was a fluke. On the 11th hole, while hitting my approach from barely into the right rough, my right foot slipped in the wet grass on my downswing, and I pulled my approach well left.

 

As I approached my ball, my heart sank: a small pond. Dammit! Made double, and the played steady from there and finished 1-under.

 

Qualifying for the SCGA amateur at my age and with my short length of the tee is really cool. I was competing against a bunch of top high school and college golfers.

 

Hit 15 greens and pretty much cruised. Did make a nice 20-footer on 18 to avoid a playoff, which was the only putt of any length I made all day. Was hitting it inside 15 feet all day. Just couldn't get the putts to fall to take it low.

Not really. It actually feels like I'm hitting a 7-iron. I definitely hit it with a well-descending blow.
