I don't bet, but Molinari is tempting at those odds.

Dude is on some great form right now. Taking the hot hand is always a good bet IMO.

Fowler_playing well in the Scottish

Fleetwood playing well this year. Arguably best player in Europe

Bubba-maybe best player on tour this year. He could hit that lefty fade in the fairways all day and work the ball in the wind.

My reason for not calling the British Open the Open , as many now do, is it only called that because of political correctness. The brits still call the PGA championship the US PGA to differentiate between the BMW PGA championship. I don’t care but fair is fair. The British Open it will always be.

well at least don't go mucking things up twice by not calling it the U.S. Open because the event has never been called "the" Open, it ain't the original. I do care and fair is fair. U.S. Open it will always be. ;)

I didn't even make a pick here, and I'm still not really going to, I'll say it's a first time Major winner at Carnoustie.

When did you take up golf? I started in 1975 and it was called the British Open on TV. Therefore it will always be that to me. It’s goes against my old man ways to give it The Open moniker.

That’s about the time our US broadcast started calling it The Open.

The Open was called British open in Scandinavia when I started playingin the 80`s. i would say that it was around 2000 when The Open got to be the common denomination here. And I would say that most Scandinavians hold The Open as the most important Major (although Masters is maybe considered the most exciting), so it’s kind of to honor it. For me its even steven between the two denominations but The Open sounds kind of cool so I use it nowadays.

As For winning, I am of course hoping for some of my fellow countrymen, maybe Alex N most, the coolest of them, but I would lay my money on Molinari if I was a gambler. Very strange that he plays John Deere, but seeing him finding some reasonable consistent putting is watching a formidable force. Like if Westwood could get something of his 90`s putting back. Strange that the, lets say, top-7 americanos very seldom are fantastic ball strikers with mediocre putting. Guess long drives arent as sexy among young americans as with the young scandinavians.

Then again, the top 5 on OWGR is seldom a bad bet.
