My only complaint with my new addition is it came out almost too pretty to game.

 

What finish is that? It looks really great with the fly mill. It's kind of hard to tell from the pics -- is the finish applied over the milling?

 

Polished deep water. I'm guessing he does the milling and welding then sends it for the finish but you can still feel the textures of the fly mill. It doesn't come out feeling like its been milled then had clear sprayed over it.

I’ve never seen a fly milled head in a finish like that. Looks really nice!

My first Byron, and first post on this thread. I appreciate all your comments and photos shared here... They all helped me to decide on what I wanted, and convinced me to pull the trigger. This one was an eBay find since Byron is currently out of lefty DH89s, maybe #2 will be a personalized order if they become available again.

Bought this off eBay for a couple hundred dollars with just the 615 stamp and the small Byron Morgan on the face. Byron re-finished it for me. :-)

I'll add to this. My DH89 I got a few weeks ago, been rolling it on carpet a lot and really getting use to it now. Won't be my gamer but will get some play time for sure, I'll polish it soon to get some nice shine to it and put my own wear on it.

My DH89 just recently arrived at my parents house and I received a few pictures. I'm currently deployed so it will be a few months until I get to try it out or see it in person. But I couldn't be happier about how it turned out. Exactly as I imagined!

I love carbon but hate the oiling routine, so I embraced the vintage rawness and sped up Mother Nature. Looks good to me!

I'm not sure if it is because of the incredible mentorship, the look of his putters, or the fact that he never gives the feeling that he is in it for the money. But, I could look at and read about Byron Morgan's putters more than any other maker on the planet. He did things for me that NOBODY in a competitor's position would consider normal. He is one of the nicest, most putter-loving men in the game. We are all so incredibly fortunate to be in the time that he is building and creating his work, with pretty generous access.

I have known Byron for over 20 years, purchased from him repeatedly and shared numerous phone calls. My goal for 2019? Get out of Arizona for a long weekend and meet the man, give him a hug and share a beer or two. My money is on the fact that he has some stories that nobody else can share.

Have to give Byron a big thank you for another putter he did for me... He nailed my specs on this 615, re-milling the face to get the 4 degrees of loft and 335 gram head weight. Not only was the turnaround time very quick, but I really appreciate the fact that he lets his work speak for itself... Not many in the marketplace that can suspend their egos and not plaster their name all over their work.

New Tigerized 612, just got to paint her. I had a 615, but the cavity shape/length & the neck offset location just didn't fit my eye. The 612 is pleasure to look down on from address, more refined.
