Fujikura TR shaft reviews???

Loving this shaft profil! Getting it in 661S in the Mizuno ST190 Driver and the 757S in the Mizuno 3TS Metal.

 

Feel was consistent and smooth not harsh or boards at all. This narrowly beat out the Accra TZ6 and about 5-6 other premium shafts.

Did you try the new Ventus?

 

I did and it was nice feeling just a little to low spin for me. In the 6S version, we could not get the Ventus the way I was swinging yesterday above 1800 and with the 11-12 degree launch angle wasn’t optimized distance. I think that the Ventus with the guys who need to take spin off a driver head that’s a little high on the spin side, will do great with this.

So the Ventus is lower spinning than the TR? Isn't it supposed to be the other way around based on where they are plotted on the Fuji chart?

This graph would have to be adjusted for my swing from that fitting. For averages, it looks proper. As you know, unique EI profiles of each shaft and weighting materials play a part in delivery and launch monitor numbers. I got 1900-2200 with the TR and never cracked 1800 spin with the Ventus from yesterdays session and I hit a lot of balls with each.

 

Launch also for me was closer than the graph suggests. They were almost identical.

To me that chart is interesting, I don't find the Atmos Black TS to be low launch at ALL & I'm playing it in a M5 9.5 degree.

Now I am getting loads of distance from the Atmos Black TS & I'm also finding fairways, but to the eyeball the ballflight is high.

These are all good points. Funny , I asked this question before my trip down to Fujikura HQ and now understand that not all shafts react the same for each player. The chart is basically a guideline for playing characteristics of each shaft.

Speaking of the Fujikura HQ trip...While we were there, I got fit into the Speeder TR 857 X in my driver. I had been playing an ATMOS TS Blue 8X tipped 1" prior to the trip. I really liked the ATMOS Blue, but I got along with the TR very well right from the start. I liked the feel of the TR , but the biggest difference for me was I was more consistent with the TR. I can really go after this thing without fear of losing anything.

I have a 757 tx in my G400 max and it is the best shaft I have hit in a while. It is hard to explain but the driver just goes straight. It is low spin and I would say mid/low launch. Trying to decide if I want to put a 857 in my 3 wood.

What other shafts have you used and how much did you tip it? Swing speed? Is there a big difference in the X vs TX in the speeder TR?

I had df, tz5 and pro orange previously. I swing low 120s and tipped it a half inch but left some room to tip more. The shaft is super stable and I haven’t had any issues losing it left. Not sure the difference between the x and tx. Assuming it is just an overall stiffer profile.

My SS is 107 and got fit into an S, not sure they had an X on hand but my spin was 2900 average with G410 and 2700 with the new TM head.

 

Would the X bring my spin down with the G410? Would love to be around 2400.

Assuming you were fitted into a 661 TR S-flex, I'd try the 757 TR S-flex instead of the 661 TR X-flex. The difference in stiffness might make you swing harder.

This was my experience (at least during the fitting) with the speeder TR 661 stiff

feels like it takes the left miss out and you can feel free to go after it.

I was really looking forward to trying Ventus but the blue stiff felt really loose and with the X stiff I had a hard time finding the club head. Tried the new black low spin option too but that wasn’t optimal either.

@Fujikura Golf what other shaft in your line up would be as close in specs, feel and flight as the Speeder TR 661 stiff? the new G425 doesn't offer it as an aftermarket option so I am trying to get something identical for my build

Note: I personally use the TR 661 X and it is phenomenal. A few guys in the office do as well. It is lowwwww spin for a shaft that has some feel in both the handle and tip. I tipped it 1/2" and it never goes left. I hit center face more than most products of ours I've tried in awhile...not more than our 2019 release though!

 

 

It's definitely gaining momentum based on the Darrel Reports. More than we expected. A handful in play each week, one player has in both driver and fairway.

Do you have info on the TX version of the 661? No specs are online.

I freaking love my Ventus Tr.. I tipped it a bit because I couldn’t get the Tx flex and the ball just wants to go straight. It’s awesome. The Ventus line has been very good to me.
