So, this situation (not Brooks' brother, but sponsor exemptions in general and Tony Romo specifically) was discussed on Larry's Bogey Golf Podcast a few episodes ago. Larry had a Mackenzie Tour player on the show and asked him how he feels about sponsor exemptions for celebrities like Romo, Curry, and others. The kid basically said that he isn't a fan from the perspective of someone who is trying to Monday qualify for some events and who could likely beat guys like Romo and Curry easily. On the other hand, he said the sponsors are the ones putting the money up for the events, so they can do whatever the hell they want. It was a very blunt take, and I appreciated it. And, ultimately, he is right... if the sponsor is putting up millions of dollars to host the event, they can do whatever they want with the sponsor exemptions.

Yep, it's as easy as that. They would not be playing for the purses they do without title sponsors and all the fans/media coverage that comes a long with it.

The streak continues as VH posts another 69 in round 2.

Happy to see JT atop the leaderboard, starting with 4 birdies in a row was quite something. When he gets hot, he generally seems to stay hot (I am not going to mention a couple years ago though).

Not entirely surprising. After watching his second round, he was limping pretty noticeably after he had an excellent shot out of a bunker on the 7th (I think) hole.

They didn't keep track of scores before 1983? I can understand some obscure stats not being tracked like they are now, but this is the score!

In hindsight he shouldn't have been out there at all this week or 2 weeks ago in Vegas. Obviously him playing was part of the bargain to get Chase into these events on a sponsor exemption.

Dumb how? He wore a hoodie on Friday as well and shot 63. Doesn’t seem to do him any harm.

It was flapping around every swing but obviously it didn’t put him off. Personal opinion on attire I suppose and who wears them.

Nice work from JT, since his first win at the beginning of the 2016-17 season, no one has won more than him. He and DJ are tied with Rory and Brooks in the rear view mirror.o09wgljnz5s0.jpeg

I think anything but a class act sums up your post nicely.
