interesting to see the initial stage to the final version. This is something I would love to try as my short game is very suspect

I have to say those first prototypes looked like a club for the severely steep swinger with that flange, but as the club progressed it looks a little better. But like all things golf nobody should really ever knock anything until they try it..... so I'll let my real feelings be known after i hit 25-50 balls with this wedge.

In general wedges are very heel bias in regards to CG location because of all the weight in the hosel. With the extra mass out on the toe the CG was moved 2-3 mm (forget the exact figure) closer to the center.

There is measured bounce and effective bounce. Because of how the sole is designed neither number will adequately explain how it works. I was not told a bounce angle, rather I was asked to give it a try. It works very well.

100% certain your old Sure Out didn't have heel relief this does. First several pictures are prototypes that are many years old. The final product doesn't look like that - it's much more refined.

To me it looks like they started with a Maltby Glider and ended up with a Sure Out with heel relief

That would be the nearly 4 year old prototype. The retail model has tons of heel relief and is much more refined. This thread is strictly to show how the Toe Sweep went through the iterations of prototyping before becoming a final product.

I've always been surprised that there haven't been more forgiving wedge designs out there. For some reason nearly all wedges are blade designs.

Ok, question.....is there anyone who actually WANTS material in the heel? It seems like it always gets in the way, and is being ground off.

I know I have a tendency to dig the toes of my wedges unless I purposely keep my hands low, so maybe this will help some.

My VR Forged wedges are ready to be put out to pasture, these look like contenders. Love the way they refined it over time, looks great and can't wait to try them out

No surprise the Hogan guy is part of this (sure-out wedge.)
Seems to be the new "trend" in wedges with a few models to choose from.
TM ATV, Ping Gorge WS, Cleveland Smart Wedge, Nike, Vokey K, etc.
Looks easy to hit and I bet it works.

I own a alien, holed out two from the bunkers first day, tried the niblick, kinda a steep shaft angle, cleveland 588 better, maybe Nike got it right this time??

I don't see this club being very successful. I also don't see the tour players playing it unless they aggressively narrow the sole of the club. My guess is this wedge is a One Year Wonder (I wonder why Nike made this) and then it will be on to another crazy design.
