I live in SD. a good scam is taking these clubs to golf mart, gg, etc and getting cash. they use fake ids. Ill keep an eye out here in central and south San Diego. I know the golf community well down here so ill send the word out

That is crazy that there is such a thing that crimmals can get their hands on. Hope these turn up and are returned to their righful owners but I guess I should start thinking twice about leaving things in the truck.

What other clubs or items were stolen? Perhaps you can share what driver or other things that the crook stole and we'll watch out for those as well. I would look in Orange County or San Diego county areas as Carlsbad is between those two counties.

This happened to me in Laguna Niguel in November, in a high traffic parking garage at the gym in the middle of the day. Took two sets of clubs, including tour issue and pretty hard to get stuff...I was pretty sad to say the least. Been slowly replacing clubs from the BST here and an iron set donated by my awesome younger brother.

This doesn't apply to this instance as much, but I recommend putting your clubs/bag/rangefinder on a personal articles insurance policy. It is dirt cheap and well worth it.

The irons have KBS tour tour 90's in them. The 3 wood is a RBZ stage 2 painted black. Also an Adams XTD hybrid, both have Fubuki shafts. SLDR driver with a red UST shaft.

See if you can leave your name and what the clubs are at the numerous golf mart stores. They won't give cash fofr trade ins. The crooks could sell them to someone who golfs and then that person could try to trade them in for something they can hit. Call the stores.

Or they'll take the clubs in, get an in-store credit and then try to sell it for cash. Cash is always king, even if they take 50% of the card value, it's still 100% profit for them. Zach, hope your buddy finds his stuff soon.

Park a car in the mall parking lot right about where you parked and leave the trunk open and a bunch of golf clubs in the open. Surveillance the trunk and catch your thief. They will most likely be back to the same spot.

In all seriousness they most likely will be back at that mall parking lot. I hope these guys get caught

If you can post flyers at the local courses and driving ranges. I doubt they'll go far if they're sold locally. Worse case is the buyer knows what they're worth and they get sold on again very quickly, out of state or country.

I fear they will acutally just take them to the swap meet. Sell them to some guy for like $150 and that guy will have them in his garage/bag for the next 20 years and never know. You'd have to watch for people at courses to see if they have them and then ask if where they got them. My wife's car was broken into in the Los Angeles area and they took things that would be easily identifiable. The cops said most guys who do it for a living, and not just for a quick buck for drugs will have a garage or storage unit. They rob someone, stash the stuff for months and forget about it. Keep the cycle going. And most of the stuff ends up at swap meets, eBay, or craigslist. Pawn shops offer very little and they know that.

That's horrible.....I had a situation few seasons back, I walked out to my driveway....and sure enough, doors wide open, my paperwork everywhere...next thought was OMG my bag is in the trunk, thank god they didn't know there was almost $3k sitting in front of them....so instead they stole about $30 in change, an iPod, and wifey's Hermés scarf.....cops said they hit my whole neighborhood, iPods, GPS's, etc draw break-ins, then who knows what else they find once drawn to your car. Keep ur valuables hidden, and double check door locks as I seem to forget sometimes, that's what they also said, you would be amazed how many people don't lock their doors, or forget....good luck, eyes peeled for ya.
