Sweet looking irons. Srixon looks good lately, they need to enter the US market and dissolve Cleveland.

I'm loving my 588 CBs. What about all the Cleveland wedge ho's?

The z101s came out 10 yrs ago .. I think you have that backwards

MacGregor Tourney irons had the triangle muscle back almost 60 years ago.

Man I wish Srixon came in lefty. I would be all Srixon/Cleveland if they did. I was all Cleveland for about 4 years, but their switch to crazy lightweight shafts and lack of solid iron choices a few years ago had me moving on. But now that they seem to be making great woods again and wedges are always great. Srixon irons with Cleveland Woods and wedges, Z star....that would be great.

It's good to see a Srixon thread get a lot of attention. Over the years, their forged irons look and feel as good as any mfr. out there. Only problem is their availability in the US. I'm glad I abstained this year and kept my Cally XHP's in the bag as I would love to give these a go if/when they ever find their way stateside.

I too have the XHP irons from last year, and while my eye may wander to other irons, I honestly don't think anything will replace them. If I were to give some a spin:

J40CBs, i25s, S55s, Apex Pro, MP64, XTDs, and these Srixon's.

I've hit all of those except the J40's. S55's, Apex Pro's and 64's are much more demanding. The i25's were nice on mats, but not so much for me on grass. The XTD's were surprisingly good but in the end, the XHP's are by far the easiest, longest, most forgiving 'player's' iron I've ever hit. And the feel with a properly fitted PX 95 shaft is excellent: soft but explosive. They do get beat up quick but I don't really mind.

But I will hit those Srixon's if I get a chance. I think the i506's are one of the great forged irons I've ever hit and these seems to be slightly inspired by them.

Sorry but neither the J40's nor 101 look EXACTLY like the MacGregors.

Those Srixon's are pretty much carbon copies....I Really like Srixon/Cleveland but these are straight copies of a Bstone design.

The last few years Cleveland's iron offerings didn't gain a lot of attraction. Not to say they were bad, but they just didn't gain any traction like Titleist/Ping.

If it's true that Srixon is going to be focusing on the woods/irons in the near future and Cleveland to focus on wedges, this is a hell of a start!
Is that how this is going to play out? I wasn't sure what the split was going to be. Is this what it's going to look like in the states? Might be better served to keep Cleveland on the woods as at least they have SOME name recognition around then.

Srixon woods? Never heard of 'em (said 99% of the golfing public).
Sorry, not sure, just a bit of speculation on my part based on information I've read around here.

Agree with you though, Cleveland's woods are solid and should stick around in NA. A shame they don't get more attention.

Looks like Srixon is throwing the kitchen sink in these irons. 1020 Carbon forged, tungsten in the toe of the long and mid irons for MOI and a shape that is.... well in my opinion... awesome.

Here is a few facts from the Japanese website...

The Ho in me is thinking 3 iron in this hotter more forgiving Z-545 and then 4-PW in the Z-745's.

Here is the more forgiving z545 multi piece (hot strong steel face, soft 1020 carbon body and tungsten in the toe) construction...

Great looking sticks, would definitely try them

Ditto my man, Di-tto. Assuming we'll be able to get these, would be a good match between these and the new BStones.

Notice the footnotes from the Srixon site list "made in Japan."

It's mostly a rarity to see that in NA, hope it stays that way for our market.

I really like them but I wonder if they'll go all mizuno style and weaken the lofts for markets outside japan? A 44* PW in a players set like 500 series is rough.
