Wilson Staff MT22 putter. Got a 35” version with 10 gram weights (350 gram head weight) and put on shorter shaft to make it 33”. Very nice feeling putter that sets up well. Like that it came with a magnetic head cover.

Those putters are super nice and HIGHLY underrated. They were designed by Clay Long for Wilson and his lineage in putters aside which makes them worth it alone; he charges like $800 for his own line of putters.

Last year, before Sean left Odyssey, I had chatted with him about really wanting a putter that would basically be a milled face OG CH7. He simply told me that if I was patient, I would be pleased in the next few months. It took a little longer than I expected, but he sure was right. I just love this Las Vegas H1. Went with a 33.5" shaft and I really am enjoying this thing. I laugh when I think that the putter I like the most is named after the city I like the least, but the putter is a dream. Getting my pace down has taken some adjustment since I've played the White Hot OG for a while now, and I may eventually try out some heavier weights just for comparison, but the putter is a dream come true for me.

I got my first Scotty Cameron last month, Phantom 7.5 (2024). I absolutely love it, I was between this and the L.A.B. Mezz. Upgraded from a Ping Anser, first time using a mallet.

I picked up a 39-inch LAB CB awhile back, just never got the hang of it.  A friend of mine won a black 35 inch PLD Anser 2 in a raffle, he uses only longer putters.  I traded him my LAB for his PLD, plus he gave me $50.

 

Why?  Just because.....I guess. I have tried committing to using longer putters for about 9 months now, currently using a Spider Tour S CB at 38 inches.  But I started rolling the PLD, it feels really good, pulled out a couple other similar models I have, might have to give the PLD a try now......

Picked up this guy from @daviegolf1991! Yes! Tracy II with a topline instead of flange line. wanted to try a flowneck since i’m normally a facebalanced guy. Love it so far, and threw on this garsen grip as an experiment as well and LOVE it!

So the snow finally melted, and I've finally been out on course.

 

The good: from 2-5' the thing seems to swing itself. I don't feel worried about pulls or pushes, the club moves through the ball, the ball moves down the intended line. Yes I've missed a couple from that range from bad reads or laziness, but I haven't really had bad misses either (every miss from that range is "bad" I guess, but they have all been lip-outs is my point)

 

What I have not had is consistency from distance, primarily because outdoor greens are bigger than anything I've had occasion to practice on and the early season presents 3-5 different green speeds per round. I do feel like I need to make a firm effort to hit puts longer than 25' to get them to the hole. That is still a work in progress.

 

I have zero complaints regarding feel of contact. The impact is soft, the ball rolls quickly. I think the milling is quite good. I think given time this putter will become a strong weapon, just need a longer adjustment period.

Any Mizuno putter fans out there able to help with info? I picked up this hand milled Mizuno ‘Dare to Dream’ T-501 Prototype Tour Style yesterday bundled in with some 1970’s Australian clubs.

 

it’s a lovely weight and feel, but I can find *nothing* online about T-501! Manufacturer, date period etc?

Updated my Battle Ready Closer with an M-16 shaft

I had quite the unfortunate experience with PXG shipping as they shipped it to another person and shipped his putter to me. Had to wait for them to ship my putter back to me.

Then it shows up with the wrong grip on it.

 

But it is here and from rolling a few putts on the carpet, it feels really good

After months of consideration I finally bought a stock 34 inch LAB DF3 at PGA Tour Superstore in Birmingham.

 

I have 3 rounds on it now at my home course (fairly slow greens).

 

I have hit 2 putts (1 push 1 pull from long range) off my intended line.

 

I have 1 3 putt (was a complete misread from 40 feet and I lipped out a 6-7 foot comeback.

 

I have not missed a putt shorter than 6-7 feet.

 

I have not had a putt inside 10 feet that didn't touch the hole.

 

Based on the strokes gained putting calculator I've used for years I gained 2 shots on scratch, over a shot, and over 4 shots in the 3 rounds I've played with it.

 

The most recent round I had 25 putts which I believe ties a career low and it was my 2nd best strokes gained putting round ever. (I had a round years ago when I was putting really well with 26 putts with longer makes and 2 putts that was just over +6 on scratch).

 

The round I played today I literally scared the hole with every single putt.

 

Not only am I hitting my lines but I have really good pace control with the DF3 and that's been a struggle lately.

 

I had a couple of 2-3 year periods where I was better than scratch based on strokes gained putting but I peaked as a 6 handicap.

 

The last 2 years or so putting has really been costing me shots. I think the DF3 is a game changer that may not just have me back to where I was but I believe I can be a better putter than I was before.

 

I can't wait to see what it can do on some quicker and more true rolling greens.

 

I've been an equipment ho my whole life and I've never fallen so hard for any club or ball in my life.

Picked up a Champions Choice 2+ as my gamer and first-ever Scotty purchase and just got a Logan Olson Batch 01 that I'm going to keep for my daughter. She just turned 1 y/o. lol I hope she likes golf.

I just ordered a Scotty Cameron Golo 6 at 37" and 2 degrees upright, heavy.

When it arrives, I'm going to send my Bettinardi Queen B #6 back to the Hive for a reshaft at 37"

I was "fit" for the Bettinardi at 34" and I just feel waayyy to hunched over at 6'2".

Thus begins a putter collection, I suspect.

Picked up this Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas, or at least I think it is there's no Las Vegas badging. 

 

Regardless, I had credit at the store and it felt like the "one". 32" with a Ping PP58 grip (same as my old putter) Best part is I don't need to bend over to pickup balls now.
