Obviously I'm lost...since when did Tiger start using a cavity back?? I realize it's just one (his "driving iron"/2-3 iron), but I thought even that was a muscle back blade.

He has used that cavity 2-iron for awhile now (at least the last two years I believe), it comes in and out of the bag depending on the course.

Last I heard, the Method was made to the exact specs of his favorite SC putter. Yet, the Method has lead tape and a lot of scratches on the sole.

Until I hit the Covert it always surprises me to see Tiger play the fairway woods. Cavity back woods, red on top, from a guy who played some of the purest looking fairway woods around for years from bore thru PTs to the LTD. Well, having played and bagged the Covert I get it. I was wondering if he plays the 1.0 version, or the proto version that is a 2.0 that looks like a 1.0 ala Rory?

I believe it is the proto that is basically what they used to make the 2.0 this year. The "1.0" driver that he played last year was basically the 2.0 only without the added "stabilizing" section that is white in the 2.0. Personally I love all the Covert woods, though I still play the 1.0 tour fairway, with the Fuji 8.2 I get a pretty darn good ball flight which makes it hard to switch.

Not only is his head glued, it's also the same shape as his VR Tour. But to answer your question generally clubs that are adjustable at the hosel are slightly more draw biased because of the weight differential.

I don't think its the draw bias, that can be compensated for. I think it is more the swing weight. The covert has a very heavy adjustable system and it makes head feel very heavy. If I remember correctly the head with adapter is around 208g while a normal driver head is around 200g. 8g makes a huge difference in swing weight

Retail Covert Tour 2.0 head tips the scales at 208.5 grams, I also have a glued VR Tour sitting at 208 grams. The weight biased issue is something I've heard in the past. If I had to guess Tiger has never had a reason to put an adjustable driver in play because he could have 10 made up in a day and each of them having different specs.

+1...I know the differences were discussed in another thread and I think there are even comparison pics. Can someone post the pics or the thread please? Whatever version it is, ALL, I mean ALL of the players are gaming the same model, Even Michelle Wie. It looks like the covert 1.0 but actually a 2.0...I don't understand the logic behind that. I really don't know the answer to your first question, but if you check out 90% of the Nike staffers they have a mix of Vr pros and Vr forged in the bag.
