Without fail the trip threads turn sour because of a few bad apples. In this case a guy that's been a member here for 3 years and has 219 posts. How about you try to support the board and become a Charter member or maybe contribute more ???? How about that?

Not to keep beating a dead horse, but to many people this is the reason why they have a problem with these trips. Same guy putting that many clubs through his bag and gets them for free.
The free clubs I got didn't make the cut.. the one's I'm playing cost me full MSRP + fitting + build, I'd guess around $5K. Thanks bro, take your bitter outlook on things back to the World of Warcraft forum.
If you're spending that much money of golf clubs, and continuously go out on these trips trying to find something better.. well that seems really counter productive. I'm not bitter about you getting free stuff, I pretty much stated that in my other post. I'm "bitter" about your "unbias" reviews of all the clubs you get built for you.
Your defensiveness tells me all I need to know, though. Hilarious. I've read your reviews, I don't understand how you can just keep finding something that's better for your bag trip in and trip out. But hey, I'm really bitter. Just so bitter.

Once again, someone misreading my posts. I'm not bitter about the trip itself, I think it's cool that someone can get clubs and write about them, but actually be unbiased if you're going to pretend like you are.
Pure745, you seem like a nice enough guy, you do a lot for this forum, that I really appreciate being a forum, but calling me bitter? Jeez.
Believe me, I'm not the only one that feels this way. But most wouldn't wanna step on glass so they have a chance at some giveaways.

Cmon Fellas.... You didn't start the fire so don't fuel it...

If this wasn't expected before the trip happened I would question the intelligence of people making decisions.

Good with the bad.... WRX will censor and delete it... So make less work for em....

I've been waiting for reviews to start happening cause I need to know... Season is winding down and there are some good deals to be had...

I want an open faced, fixed hosel driver... Nike deliver for me or not?

Cause otherwise I gotta try to at least find an Opti460 for a little more forgiveness and settle in for Winter

I cleaned up this thread. Removed double digit posts that were about why we picked members here that went to the nike oven a year ago. This thread is not about the right or wrongs of who went. This is about the experience of the trip itself.

We picked this group because we thought it would be interesting to hear from the same guys that went before. Some of them didn't switch to the nike woods and this could add to a story if they switch because the Vapor line is improved.

Please do not come in here and campaign the wrongs of the selection process. We will warn and delete going forward. This is a promotional experience for us and nike and not a rules or process discussion.
Keep the thread on topic and do not make attacks. This is the last warning.

Felt like they were on topic, and nobody was attacking anyone until Pure745 insisted I waste my time playing WoW.
Bjackson, I believe your review said the Vapor is the best driver you've hit, but you also said you didn't hit against your 913. Once against, my beef is with not testing these clubs against a variety of clubs then crowning it the king.

Bjackson... What is your ss? Also what made you choose the driver compared to lets say the flex? Sorry if this has been asked

Can any of you, and maybe I missed it, comment about the face angles of the different drivers.

I need an open face... There just isn't any two ways about it and anything that comes neutral or closed won't even get a swing from me...
From what I've read the speed and pro at neutral are one degree and the flex is one and a half
I guess my question sucked after thinking about it for a moment...

I really want something open at the neutral setting...

I'm weird... I hate the adapters... ALL of em.... Everything stays in the neutral setting.... It's one my weirdo deals...

Like have ALL script at 12:00... That's right.... Shaft and grip labels staring me in the face....

Edit: and since Tai's the only person who I've read or paid attention to in the past... Can I get a Handicap range for the testers?

Edit Deux: I'm dumb.... You said they were One Degree and One.5 Degree open at Neutral...

I'm dumb, just to reiterate.

No worries mate! At least you caught it...

If pure says the flex beat out his SLDR, atleast for the time being, I believe him. Guy spends tons of time on here, gives probably the most detailed and unbiased reviews. I don't care that he's been picked before and I for one hope he gets picked again, because I know his review will be honest and in depth, and will not be limited to just one LM session

Geez guys stop whining and complaining...then you wonder why you didn't get picked lol. You guys had a chance to go to the Oven when they offered certificates on BST for charity. That being said I keep checking my phone every hour for the reviews. I'm curious to hear more about the flex model as it appears I love the shape the most.

They also aren't going to pick people to go who can't give a review. I've been playing Nike since they got into golf. Still gaming my original Nike blades, had them for what, 12 years now? I had the Nike titanium face blue crown driver up until two seasons ago. Got the olive and black dual strap Nike stand bag with the old school Nike golf shield it. I would love, LOVE to go on a trip to The Oven and get hooked up with sweet new sticks. Too bad I don't play enough golf, and use enough other OEMs equipment to be able to write an informed review of how the new stuff compares to other companies. Yeah, we'd all love to go, we're just not all able to give Nike what they want, as much as it may hurt to admit it.

Wish others then the "elite" could attend those experiences. I use a CT 2.0 and have Nike VR forged wedges, and still have my split cavity forged irons. Why can't someone like me get invited to that. It seems that the same *chosen* people keep on getting chosen to go to these things. Unfair and a tease to all others on this board who would kill to get invited to this. How about next time you do a giveaway or pick someone who hasn't been to the OVEN or was given a frickin driver or putter for free, with a fitting. Yes, I'm hating and it's well merited. I know hundreds of other people have the same feelings but won't express their true feeling. Many others and myself have performed many reviews and tested equipment. How do we get noticed. Say I'm a troll and hater all you want, but the majority of readers of this site will agree with me.

I still appreciate the conventional reviews but am a little agitated with the dream fitting threads, gloating how everyone receives free sh*t, that many would give a kidney to just be a part of.

Flame away.
From what I understand, Nike specifically asked for these members to come again and be part of the Vapor experience. Perhaps they felt like they didn't fulfill expectations during the last OVEN trip so they wanted redemption. Plus it seems everything was put together rather quickly seeing that one of the chosen just recently revamped his entire bag almost top to bottom with a different brand completely. In the end, who better is there than these fine members that were chosen? They all are storied members and have highly respected opinions here. They give an awful lot back to the GolfWRX community.

I'm not saying I didn't want the opportunity to go to the OVEN as well but at the end of the day lets be thankful that these men have been proven to provide non biased reviews and quality feedback to any and all people with questions. One day the time may come where you ARE selected for something like this and there will be others asking "why him"? We are lucky to be able to even see feedback, pictures, numbers, etc. before these clubs are released. Dont be angry because they recieved new equipment. Complaints such as these could cause the generous equipment companies to close their doors to GolfWRX and their members all together.
Unbiased, are you kidding me? Nike and every other OEM is literally paying these guys thousands in the form of clubs, OF COURSE it's going to be biased. They love to show comparison numbers without giving us a club head speed or smash factor and launch conditions that don't seem to make sense.
Surely I'm not saying the Vapor line sucks or anything, but it's clearly a marketing tactic that they can get thousands of eyes on without paying actual money.
so would you prefer Nike didn't host this event?

Nobody comes out of these events as loser. Not the OEM's not the participants, not GWRX and not even those who didn't go. It's not like anyone that didn't go suffered a personal loss because of this event.

So what's the big deal then?

I have only witnessed this phenomenon here. This attitude will close the doors to OEM's.

On the topic now. I look forward to reading the reviews and seeing lots of pics. I'm looking forward to reading about the experience and how Nike thinks and works and not how the product performs. I'll test the product myself to determine if it is the bees knees.

So far great coverage.

Guys,

Per GWrxMod's warning above, please keep the discussion about the trip and the new Nike gear. We don't want to issue warnings or suspend good members, but the negativity, bickering and off topic nonsense needs to stop. We appreciate everyone's input, but this thread is not the place to hash it out. Thanks and carry on!

Thanks for your feed back. Can't wait to see what you think after playing some rounds. I got a couple questions for you.
Did you go 3 WD speed and is that a 5 WD flex? What shafts in the FWD? Did you try the HYB? How great do the new wedges look in person? Did they talk about the wax that they will be shipping them in?

I'd Love to go on a trip to the Oven but it would be completely useless to pick someone like me because I am 100% Nike biased and who would want to read a review where I would not bash anything about Nike. I'm glad the guys that got picked went because the reviews will be fair but honest. Ha

Did anyone ask If the new RZN black are the same as last years other than color or is there any other improvements.
