so...i played 5 rounds with pinn gold cuz i liked the tee distance, but from a hundred in i was getting killed...the reaction on the green was like when i tried to give the cat a bath...it was all over the place...it was costing me so many shots i decided to return to cs in a 2-man scramble this afternoon...BAM! chipped in on #9 with folks watching from the balcony...birdie! missed another chip in on #2 by 2 inches!
yeah, i'm back. and i'm sticking.

chipped in again today on #2! and numerous hit and stick shots...2 over on the front, (birdie lipout on 9) which means i got some game inside me somewhere, lol...putted like a dream...
then we made the turn. i should've gone home.
bad decisions crushed me. why do i do the things i do on a golf course? 266 out on par 5. shoulda hit 150, then 116 onto green...but nooooooooo...i gotta go for the green...topped it and went 50yds....
i hate myself sometimes...
anyway, CS is a really great ball, among others...i'm sticking with CS cuz i bought a dark red callaway hat...lol...
report back!
one thing i noticed was i did have to give a little more oomph when chipping and putting than i was used to, but that's me...and when i chip the CS i open the wedge a bit to add a little loft, then go right at my target/target line...
Been playing all the Bridgestone 330 series lately, mainly RX and RXS, and throw prov1x in on occasion. Both pro V models are the ultimate in spin imo but I don't really want all that spin or need it. I tried the SuperSoft awhile back and it was just too soft, no spin, and couldn't control distance on short irons for nothing. I'm playing tomorrow and Monday so we'll see how it goes.

played my first round today, great to putt with soft feeling but not as soft as SS not much difference for me for chipping with no extra bite but that could be me, very happy overall but will go back to SS when I have lost all the chrome soft.no scuffs after 18 holes balls like new.

Played it again today. Really nice soft feel. It is a half club longer off the irons; had to get used to that. Equally long to PV1x off the tee. Slightly less spin around the greens, but still good. I find it comes off my putter face with a bit more spring/zip that the PV1x. I really like this ball.

LEFT HANDED

Titleist TSR2 with Metaflex 5H shaft
Titleist TSR2 16.5 degree fwy with Ventus Red 7 stiff shaft
Ping G430 19 and 22 degree hybrids with Ventus Blue HB 8 stiff shaft
Srixon ZX7 mkii 5-PW with Fuji Axiom 105 stiff shafts

Titleist SM9 50F, 54D, 58T wedge with Fuji Axiom 105 stiff shafts
L.A.B. MEZZ Max putter with LAGP putter shaft

Being playing for a week or two. I like them a lot. I don't know if I get quite the bite around the greens as i do with the Pro V but they spin really well out of the fairway on full irons. Feel nice off the putter as well. Trying to compare them to the Chrome+ and haven't seen a huge difference, if any at all. Anybody played the SR3 and have a comparison. The SR3 seems a little bouncier off the putter but still as soft. Just curious due to the price difference.

I play chrome softs from time to time when I want distance over accuracy. It is a decent ball, but if my swing is not on point this ball becomes extremely uncontrollable for me. I understand on those days it is me and not the ball. My go to ball is Taylormade Project A and on my off days I find these much easier to control.

Played the golf ball a few months ago. Great ball overall but did not like how it came off the face of the putter. Some say fast or hot off the face....I say not. Could not get my speed control down at all with this ball.

I find that the SR3 came off the ball much hotter but they definitely were a little different from the Prov1

I keep hearing great things about this ball. I must try soon. I've been playing the Srixon Z-Star SL
We all have different feels and characteristics we like. Some of us are brand loyal or require a certain feel or its no good. I've become a bit of a ball snob lately. For the past few years Ive been playing the Chrome, and then switched to the Chrome+ after I got confident enough to spin harder. After they discontinued them, I went on the search for a new ball. I tried the Q Star which was ok, and a huge improvement over the Nike RZN White which I hated. Then having an ok time with the Q Star, I decided to try out the Z Star XV. It was a decent ball. I played seven rounds before losing my dozen Z Stars, but was never quite satisfied. I didnt play the Chrome Soft because I was bitter at Callaway for discontinuing what I thought was the best ball for me and pretty much in general, just to replace it with a Soft feeling, more expensive version.

I gave in, and I have to tell you, immediately, I love it. I still prefer the original Chrome/Chrome+ for certain things, but overall, this ball feels and plays amazing for me. This could probably be a complete coincidence, but I was hitting my irons so well, I had about a shoe length to the hole on a par 3 with a decent backspin. I also had two more great shots, one from 160ish, and another from 100 yards out, both had a divot mark right next to the hole, one spun back a foot, and the other released maybe 3 feet.

This ball just felt like I was throwing darts all day, but be aware, I had some problems chipping as this ball doesnt grab as well around the green as some say, at least not for me anyway, not compared to what the Chrome+ was doing.

Amazing ball.

Theres another thread floating around on Chrome Speed that is a direct replacement on the chrome and chrome+ series so maybe look at this one? Except you can only buy from one store... may interest you as well alongside the soft?
