It just me or are a lot of pros switching to Nippon Iron Shafts?

The original WV 125 IMO. Slightly higher launch and lower spin than the tour125. Or if you like them, go do a few bunker practice sessions and dull those grooves.

the new ones have the modus logo you see on the 120 125 130 shafts. the old ones have a tiny tiny pink triangle and i think it says wv. it's clearly different.

I would assume the same as what you do if you hardstep something like DG, which is use another wedge shaft in the PW...

I new to this thread. Can someone telll me why there are more tour players using the Modus 3 120x shafts vs. the 125x shafts. I have been using DG X100 SS 1x for a coupple of years and would like to try these Nippons, what would i fit into the 120x or the 125x?

When 120 and 130 were the only options, the 120 was a closer fit to DG. They have a softer butt section which makes it feel ultra smooth and a stiffer tip for lower spin. The 125 is still relatively new, it is very very similar to the DG so if you are looking for a change, the 125 isn't going to change it up that much. 125X would be equal IMO to a X100 SSx1 but with a tad lower flight and for me, better consistency in distance and dispersion. I get zero ballooning with 125 and I do with X100 straight in. 125 is also weighted more evenly for me which I prefer their feel.

120 is a different profile all together. If you don't generate a lot of spin you might get a lower flight with more control than DG. If you are a high spin player you may get more spin than you bargained for. It is a case by case basis so you really had to try them. I highly suggest TX soft stepped for x100 SSx1 users. Or the 120X hard-stepped, but really they [b]feel[/b] soft to flex. They don't play soft to flex, they just feel softer. If you can get your hands on both, try X hsx1 or TX ssx1 would be my suggestion.

I just switched from DG X100 ss to 125 X strait in. I am really liking them so far. They "feel" a bit softer but trajectory seems to be pretty similar. I haven't gotten them onto a launch monitor yet so this is just the eyeball test for me. Definitely a different feel. It seems like I don't have to work as hard. That is a good thing for me. It smoothes out my swing as I tend to get spiny with hips and upper body. The "thump" that normally gets associated with the DG's is a bit more "muted" (I liked the thump of DG better but the trade off's seem worth it) Again, all these terms are subjective. I don't play as much anymore and the X100 were getting a tad to demanding on those days when I wasn't quite feeling it. Right now I am testing the 125X against the DG Pro X100 strait in. Modus 125 seems to be the leader as of now. I really want to try the DG AMT shaft but doesn't seem like those will be available for some time.

I have been looking at the Mizuno mp4 tired the 1150 shaft liked the feel but seemed to lose it right.

The 120X were better but a tad too tip heavy, I wasn't totally in love with these either.
Then I found a set of 2t15 protos for cheap on eBay and I must say it's the best shafts I ever played !

I have a Modus 120 in the Ping ie 7 iron to try. Only hit it a couple of times. Not sure if it's the head or the shaft that I don't like. Going to try it more this weekend.

Just got fitted into Modus 120X hard stepped once in j15 CBs (gotta love the no upcharge). This is coming from DG x100 with a 7 iron SS of 92-94 mph and driver SS of 112-114 MPH fwiw. Hopefully they won't balloon on me or end up being too spinny, we'll see.

Same transition,played S300s in MP-53s and switch to J15s with Modus 3 125S. Night and day better then the S300....

Waaay smoother, higher ball flight, and at least a club longer.

Try them, you'll never go back to DG again...unless the AMT are incredible.

That's for another year.

What are all you converts using for wedge shafts?I love my 125X. I am thinking of putting them into my gap, sand and lob wedge. Are you guys putting same as iron shaft for gap? Any feedback on the Modus wedge shaft? Don't know whether to put the modus wedge shaft, stay with he 125X in gap and the 125 S in my sand and lob. Any input would be appreciated.
