Do you have a link to who you have corresponded with at TSG?

Unless you want to pay their premium I would look elsewhere. Many less expensive options out there.

Side note: I just picked up a set of 745 and installed Aerotech i95s. I hit their demo with the stock DG (which I hate) and they felt very solid. Dense but soft feel.
Havnt hit them yet w- the aerotechs but I plan on playing or getting to the range this weekend.

What would the 745s compare to looking at address? AP2? Mp 15?

I've hit mine on grass at range a few times but haven't been able to play a round yet due to weather. So far so great.

What?
What happened to onoffs? Those were some pretty glowing reviews.

  • 2 weeks later...

I hit my 745s on the course with my MP15s. Alternating shots.

Initially, I was leaning towards the 745s, but as the round wore on, I started to prefer the Srixon.

Feel - the MP15 actually feel softer than the 745s, but the 745s feel solid. Much better than the AP2 I tried for a couple of rounds in the summer.

The 745s have a much thicker sole than the MP15.

I think what I also found was that I gained distance with against the MP15s, when I hit equivalent irons (6 vs 6, and 9 vs 9).

I've got three more rounds planned in the next three days. Will report back.

Looking forward to hearing about it. Would just hate to see you buy and sell the Srixon's 4 times before deciding like you did with the mp54's haha

I'm going to side with Wobgon. The feel just isn't there for Endo Forged. I will say they are the best looking irons out right now from the head to the red grips which are awesome. I wanted to love these b/c they look so sweet but for 1000 dollars you would expect the ball to melt into the face but they just felt average at best.

Played another round with the MP15s and the 745s today.

I didn't have the same distance gains today, and what I actually am finding is that though the MP15s are a multi-material forging, they are a much softer feeling club than the 745s.

I still have two rounds to go, but I hit 40 shots with each club on the front 9, and then played with the 745s on the back.

My take is that I found it easier to hit the MP15 flush more regularly than the 745, and where I am leaning right now, is that I would rather have the reward of hitting a flush shot with the Mizuno than the Srixon.

Forgiveness between the two is wash, but I'm finding the MP15 is more forgiving.

From a turf interaction, both grinds get through the ground about the same.

More thoughts to follow.

From my recent experience, I agree that the Srixons feel more solid than the AP2. The turf interaction is also very, very good. Srixon has released a very good iron. Anyone that picks this up, should be very happy with the result. Just don't forget to hit others - though these are Endo Forged, I think the MP15 feel softer.

I see both your Srixon 745's and your Mizuno MP 15's are for sale on another site. What are your thoughts on why?

Please be careful making this kind of post in these threads.....You will be labeled as crazy and perhaps be committed to an institution for the less than sane.

I think the easy answer is I'm happy with both and which sells first, I'll keep the other.

The preference as of today is for keeping the Mizunos. It may change over the next day or so.
[/quote]

For me the 745's and the Mizuno MP15 were the top 2 in my testing with the Mizunos just edging Srixon out for the top. I ended up with the Srixons as I got a good deal on them. I hit a few balls with them so far but nothing material. I had them shafted with the Nippon super peening orange which should give them a nice higher flight for me (I'm a low ball hitter).

I figured if they didn't work out I could always get the MP 15's - I have a few rounds later this month in warmer weather so we'll see how they stack up.

With either set I am contemplating adding the 545 4 & 5 iron and for the Mizuno working in the H5 4 & 5 irons. I'll wait to see how I play before doing anything.
