Nah, it's not like that, I'm not trying to be a d**k,

Black with red accent is a more classic combo than black w/ white accent.

White w/ black accent is more classic than white /red.

Telling ya man....msfix on eBay. .570 OD

http://www.ebay.com/itm/121544145809

Look under each items "item description" to get the technical specs.

I swear I was just in ebay looking through his stuff and was only seeing his 0.540 OD ones and I was just about to send him a message. And now you just saved me the trouble. Domo arigato, Mr. Kingcato! :yahoo: I am in ferrule heaven now.

And just for that, I decided to take a pic of "Katana" (my 2i Porn Star) with her black leather bustier with red stitching for you. What do you think so far? Shall I go with the white w/black rings ferrules or black w/red rings? I'm leaning towards white w/black rings.

If I had to pick, to match up the red stitching, I would think about going with a red ferrule. Taking it a step farther, red with black rings would be interesting. And likely impossible to find. LOL

So maybe black with red rings, to match up with the grip?

White isn't bad either, will stand out nicely.

I am suggesting black with red stripes and since it's a katana...it's gotta go red paint fill. Ferrari Red or Candy Apple Red. Might as well make it loud.

MB2's all the way. But playing blades is mostly due to us as kids hitting our dads or grandads irons and trying to get that feeling of when you finally hit one good. GI irons look like shovels and look as if you cannot take a divot. I played CB's for years and always was good with hitting the sweet spot. Bought a set of MB2's 5 years ago and while I have strayed at times, mostly because I hate offset, I always come back to my MB2's. Not sure what it is but I hit them longer and more accurate than all others. Use the stock KBS 90's smoke too. Just a great set of irons!

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.
Treat people the way you want to be treated

They're not blades, but I'm rebuilding my wife's irons for the new year. My wife is 5ft 9in tall, standard women's length need not apply. I built her a set of Dynacrafts to a standard men's length, such as there is a standard, lol. 5 iron is 37.75" long, that kind of thing.

Well, the missus uses a ten finger grip and with an occasionally balky back, I thought I should make them a touch longer. I could have just extended hers, but then I thought of something else I could do...

My lovely spouse is of Irish descent. Hireko's has various colors in graphite shafts under their Acer brand. I already have green Pure grips lying around, and have green ferrules, grabbed white graphite shafts to do a green and white theme, for that Irish thing.

All this talk of DeNinny's ferrule options, thought I'd share. :)

Hey btw are any of you guys in the San Diego area? I'm at a work conference here and of course am looking for golfing opportunities. Just stumbled across Fairway Golf USA and some of the reviews talked about "Japanese clubs" and I saw a picture of a Miura Staff Bag, which I have never seen before. These seem to be very, very encouraging signs and I have Uber on my phone...

Also might try to sneak over to Coronado. Looks like they have a cool muni??

So in nautical golf news...I have been traveling the high seas on the non golf friendly run with just my lonely 37'' 1-iron. Herein lies some luck, for the run has changed back to the golf friendly run just in time for me to make a farewell tour prior to getting off the ship. I need suggestions for golf outings with reasonable rates for Charleston, SC and Miami, FL. I will be playing Bay Forest in La Porte, TX again on a Saturday and Sunday. I am going to carry the bare minimum of clubs strictly seeking the adventure of nomad golf in various places. If you are interested in my schedule for these destinations please contact me and I will be glad to see if we can link up on the course. Fair warning: I am currently terrible and out of practice, but promise to have a good time and much laughter as possible.

My sister lives down there and I play there often. Coronado is cool but still a muni. The cool part is more the scenery. If you can get over to Barona, play there instead if you want some great challenging golf.

No Acers in green, but there ARE green graphites out there. I didn't look too hard for green, since I already had the green grips and wasn't sure I could match the greens.

My wife's irons are Lady Copperheads, the cavity color is a wild card. Thought about refinishing them in some way, but that's probably more than my wife would care for. She's not a showy type, I think the green and white thing would be about as much effort as I need. :)

Looking for a good set. I game the RBZ Tour's right now. The 2 iron is a Kroydon, picked it up for $1 at a goodwill. It says offset but it has 0. Just the way I like it. I actually hit this club better than any of my gamers.

wow. Now that is a butter knife. Been down with the flu last 4 days but the photo's and stories have brought the occasional laugh that hurts with the cough. Saw a TM 2 iron at a thrift store today as wife got me out of the house as I'm feeling a bit better, thought of the gang on this thread. For 5.00 I thought about it but remembered the wife had the purse and I was just along for the ride. Did add to my collection of old Whiskey China's as I bought 4 more today all 60's vintage stuff. When not golfing I like collecting some of that type memorabilia. Might as well post them I suppose not actually golfing items but to some guess they could make their way onto the golf course.

Also I want to say thanks for all the ferrule help and input guys. I totally get how badass the black with red rings matching with the stitching would look. I really do. And yeah Nard_S in the future I will seriously consider a red paintfill. But for now I want to preserve the original white. And ultimately what tips the scale in favor of a white ferrule is that I see it as psychologically better. White symbolizes purity and that is what I seek with using it: a pure shot. Also I would rather have the colors matching with the paintfill rather than the stitching, so I am jumping off the cliff and going with white with black rings.

I'm now 66 years old, a plus handicap and played blades me entire life until I went to AP2s spring 2014. Just couldn't get the long irons up any more. AP2s are a bit like the blue pill.

I really want to understand.

Ahhh, I bet DeNinny is chomping at the bit to answer this, but is cautious, given recent developments here in this thread. My advice would be to go back and read all of his posts over the last six-eight months or so, where he explains why in GREAT detail (LOL). Or PM him.

As for me, I would say it's because blades are solid all the way through and around (in more ways than one), and the other clubs you mention are not. And maybe there is a psychological effect as well, since you obviously enjoy hitting the blade more than the others, which creates a positive feedback loop.

And finally, although I know this may not satisfy your burning curiosity, I'd say regardless of the reason, they seem to be working for you and you enjoy playing them and that is really all that matters in the end!

But, but, but I only hit my drives 250 and I'm off 13- don't I need forgiveness?

I really don't understand.

You won't start any debate here. No one cares if you play pings or mp33s. Your drive distance is normal, you have the speed to play whatever, and off a 13 I promise you will find that you lose 10 of those 13 shots around the green and off the tee. If you need forgiveness, my best recommendation is finding a local Catholic Church, bring a rosary. If you can wrap your head around the possibility that a good swing makes good shots with any and all clubs, and a bad swing has bad results with any and all clubs, then you took the same color pill as most here. This thread probably has as much to with that mindset as actually playing blades, in fact, any CB players with that mindset would probably mostly enjoy this thread.

Are you sure it's not mousse she loves?

Well I went to Fairway Golf USA. What an unexpected gem! The guy tells me "Yeah, we specialize in foreign clubs." Boom! Anyone in the San Diego area needs to go check it out. I got to see a million brands in there I have only heard about in this thread and seen on-line: Miura (both MB-001 and BB), Fourteen, Eon, PXG. They had a bunch of premium shafts to try: GD, Fujikura, Mitsubishi, HZRDUS, Miyazaki. They had a used wedge bin that was probably the highlight: Vega, Scratch, Fourteen. They even had a used Miura driver!

They had a demo BB 6 iron. I hit a couple, but it's so hard for me to hit an off the rack demo and get any info from it. Shaft has so much to do with it. And I need to hit it outdoors, off grass. As it was, it felt thin and clicky. Need my X100 shaft in it and my midsize grips. I'm not giving up yet, but I walked away just loving my set(s) even more. Sorry DeNins!

I also got to hit an Epic and Epic SZ and 2017 M1 440. Their launch monitor was pretty ghetto, only measured ball speed, I think, and calculated everything based off that (it assumed a smash factor of 1.47) so I have no idea where they were going, but dam did that M1 440 with a HZRDUS x-stiff shaft feel sweet.

I may just be really used to my clubs, but nothing looks as good to me as the Cobra ACP. I'm also looking for basically 0 offset when I put a club down and it seems very few clubs these days are made that way. The PXGs looked horrible by the way. Could see the sole from address. Automatic DQ, haha.

Hehehe bobby there is no need to apologize! LOL I couldn't care less if I was the last person on earth to love the BBs. All that means is more for me!

FWIW, I had the very same underwhelming experience with BBs and other Miuras when hitting into a sim. I was not smitten by the feel of Miura steel until I hit them off real turf. And when I did it was a completely different experience. And BTW it was with multiple shaft and head combos...shaft* didn't matter as much as the head at that point.

I really enjoyed the Moira's I hit but didn't really get it until I hit DeNins off the turf. Just an eye opening moment.

Now on to the Hogans. Very nice club. Fairly long but a little more punishing on mishits than my 67's. Didn't hit the ball well but hit some very well also. Now the all important, very clicky and solid upon contact. Even on the most well struck balls there is a different feel. You can feel the club is more solid than your average blade. Will be interesting to see how life progresses with them.

Yep, totally understood. No matter what happens in this life, when I get my length and lie finally dialed in, I am going to order a BB 5 iron head and put a DG X7 shaft in it and hit the hell out of some ProV1s OUTSIDE, OFF OF GRASS, and watch and feel what happens. I honestly hate hitting off fake turf, indoors, into a net. FOR ME, it's almost completely worthless, or maybe even worse than worthless, as it might give you a wrong impression either way (great club feels terrible, terrible club feels great). I also don't trust any launch monitors other than TrackMan, and even then, I want to use it outdoors.
