Patriots Glen golf course in Cecil County is for sale 1.8 million how about 30 of us throw in 60 grand each and buy it ?

 

it's not the purchase price that's the issue (especially if we got kent on board). it's the upkeep. i'll throw out $1 mil/year for maintenance as a totally random guess. i'm probably way low too.

You get all of the free drinks YOU want if you get a hole in one. This one has always puzzled me.

-No dress code, per se. I want Domes to feel as comfortable as Fabb at my course.

-Employ a ranger who knows the game, can see when people are lollygagging or just having a bad hole. And no free golf for him. I don't want some geezer that just wants to get out of the house and enjoy free golf with it. Sure, he'll get a scooby snack here and there, but pay him well and let him determine where he plays golf. But he runs the course.

-10 minute tee times.

-Spend the money on the green complexes. People can play winter rules, roll it wherever to find a decent patch. Or play it down, I don't care. But as long s the greens are true and fair, it will be seen as a course in good shape and enjoyable.

-Have different sand in different bunkers. That includes different rakes. Some with fine teeth. Some with West Virginia teeth. (some here, some there...)

-Kids under 13 free with paid adult. They play forward tees though, and keep up. Learn the rules, build the game, get some parent/child time.

-Coolers every 6 holes with water and gatorade. Maybe even a person selling beer at that station. Know what you want, order, move on. That means NO HOTTIES. She's in the bar inside. Hurry up so you can go see her. She's not on the course, so get moving.

-Pick up after triple bogey. Oh, you have a match, and that putt for 8 might matter. Tough crap. Hole tied, move on. And do you really win if you have a quad????

add to this: you know those high-end, no touch hand dryers? i'd have those, as well as high-end exhaust fans in these stalls. we'd be able to vacuum suck the nastiness out, like at the conclusion of 'alien.'

you guys took a lot of the ones i would want, including no carts, less restrictive dress code, kids and strippers play free.

 

1. if at all possible, rework the routing so there were 3 sets of 6.

2. play all you can play fee

3. harsh penalties for abuse of course. this includes not filling in divots, not repairing ball marks, not raking greens, as well as the normal bigger stuff.

4. just in general, if people have fun, they'll want to have fun again, and won't mind paying for it. i'd want a course that focuses on fun.

5. a kick-a** restaurant/banquet area/bar area. maryland national does this pretty well. people come just for the food and drinks. alternate revenue stream when the course is snowed under.

6. free lessons to anyone who asks nicely and wants to improve.

7. excellent short game/practice area. open to public.

1 - Full restrooms - with full doors - built after every hole. I dont want anyone to have to walk back to the clubhouse when emergency strikes.

2 - Practice hole routing around the range. LPGA in Daytona has a 3 hole routing around the range where you can play all you want.

3 - You could talk your caddie out on the practice holes before the round. If he's a complete dingus you could dump him before the round.

Anybody ever seen field turf at a driving range? UGA had a section of their range that had field turf. That is where they held the golf classes. I never got to hit off it but it seemed like a cool idea.

Sounds a lot like a Top Golf with good food on an actual golf course. With the no cart policy, you may not need senior tees, because many of us cannot walk the course and survive. Free golf for kids and strippers will certainly get a lot of youngsters interested in the game. When a son, father and grandfather play together it can be a binding experience. Much like the joke when grandpa says to the fox that joined them that's a give me.

no sarcasm, i am very surprised. when's the last time you can think of that any item that was in such demand simply disappeared before demand dried up? i honestly can't think of one time when that happened. maybe the first gen electric cars?

you know, i never thought about it from that angle. you make a really really good point. last thing i'd want to do is exclude such a huge potential client base. carts for seniors if they'd like them. and you guys can drive anywhere, including up to the edge of the green.
